Huawei\u2019s launch also comes days before Apple is expected to \u2062launch its new iPhone 15 on Sept. 12.<\/p>\n<h2>WHO ARE THE\u2062 MATE \u200b60\u2019S SUPPLIERS?<\/h2>\n<p>Huawei has not officially named the suppliers for the phones\u2019 components, though apart from SMIC, TechInsights also said it found \u200dSouth\u200b Korea\u2019s SK Hynix\u2019s DRAM and NAND components in the phone.<\/p>\n<p>SK Hynix, which said it \u200cstopped doing business with Huawei since the United States introduced restrictions on the firm\u2062 in 2019, has said it is investigating.<\/p>\n<p>The Mate 60 Pro contains \u2063more Chinese-made chip components than previous models, TechInsights also said.<\/p>\n<p>Lists of possible Chinese suppliers have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-lawmaker-arrested-at-state-capitol-shortly-after-state-election-reform-bill-signed-into-law\/\" title=\"Georgia Lawmaker Arrested at State Capitol Shortly After State Election Reform Bill Signed Into Law\">widely circulated online<\/a>, with shares of companies \u200btouted as possible candidates soaring on the \u2062speculation.<\/p>\n<p>Most of these are existing suppliers to Huawei. Shares in Dongguan Chitwing Technology Co. Ltd, which makes molds, for instance rose by the daily \u2062upward limit of 10% in the days after Huawei\u2019s \u2064launch. It did not respond to a Reuters\u2019 request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Suzhou-based \u200bdisplay maker Visionox \u200dTechnology, whose shares have risen by 15% since the new smartphones were launched on Aug. 29, told Reuters it was a supplier for \u200bthe new Mate 60 series.<\/p>\n<h2>WHAT COULD IT MEAN FOR APPLE IN CHINA\u2019S SMARTPHONE MARKET?<\/h2>\n<p>Huawei was once the world\u2019s largest\u200c smartphone firm by sales but saw its market share steadily slump after the United States cut its access to chip-making tools essential for producing the most \u2063advanced handset models. The company was left only able to sell limited batches of 5G models using stockpiled\u200d chips.<\/p>\n<p>Its\u200c market share in China,\u2064 the world\u2019s largest \u200bsmartphone market, has fallen to 11%\u200c so far this\u200b year compared to 27% in 2020, in part\u2063 also due to its move to sell its budget brand Honor \u2063in what it \u200cdescribed then as a \u200dbid to ensure its survival.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. restrictions left \u200bApple as the main maker of premium smartphones in China.
