she wrote. &#8220;The young \u200cmen held our neighbors\u200c up at \u200dgunpoint when\u2062 they ran over and tried to help me. All in broad \u200cdaylight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Look \u2063at my face in \u200cthe picture. I have NO\u200b DOUBT they have done this\u200c before. Yet they are still on\u200d OUR STREETS.\u2062 Killing\u2064 mothers. Giving\u2062 babies\u200b psychological trauma that a lifetime of therapy cannot erase. With no hesitation and no \u2062remorse,&#8221; \u2063Ms. Sathanandan wrote.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m now part \u2064of \u200dthe statistics. I\u2063 wasn&#8217;t silent when I fought these men to save my life and my babies, and I won&#8217;t be silent\u200d now. We need to\u2064 get illegal guns off of our streets, catch these young people \u200bwho are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/minnesota-democrat-who-vowed-to-dismantle-police-is-left-with-broken-leg-bloodied-face-after-violent-carjacking\/\" title=\"Minnesota Democrat, who pledged to dismantle police, suffers broken leg and bloodied face in violent carjacking.\">running wild creating chaos<\/a> across our city, and HOLD THEM IN CUSTODY \u200cAND PROSECUTE THEM,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Look \u200dat\u200c my face. REMEMBER ME \u200bwhen you are thinking about supporting letting juveniles and young people \u2062out of custody to roam our streets instead of HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS,&#8221; the Democrat\u200d wrote.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">A report from the Minneapolis Police Department obtained by \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/kstp.com\/kstp-news\/top-news\/dfl-second-vice-chairwoman-injured-after-alleged-carjacking-in-minneapolis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KSTP<\/a> states that \u2064Ms. Sathanandan\u2019s vehicle was \u200dlater abandoned by\u200d the suspects and recovered.<\/div>\n<p>It \u2063is not clear if any \u200dsuspects\u2064 have been arrested. (John \u200bMinchillo\/AP Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>&#8216;Dismantle the\u200b Minneapolis Police Department&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>The alleged attack\u2063 on Ms. Sathanandan \u2062and \u2063her subsequent comments come roughly three\u200b years after\u200d she accused \u200dpolice of having &#8220;systematically failed the Black Community,&#8221;\u2064 and vowed to &#8220;dismantle\u2062 the Minneapolis Police Department.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">In a\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/shivanthi.sathanandan\/posts\/10158429792420477?ref=embed_post\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post on\u2062 Facebook<\/a> at \u2063the height of\u200b the BLM protests taking place throughout the country, sparked by the death of George Floyd while in\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ark-man-confesses-to-breaching-capitol\/\" title=\"Ark. man confesses to breaching Capitol\">police custody<\/a>, Ms. Sathanandan wrote: &#8220;We \u200bare going\u2064 to dismantle the\u200d Minneapolis Police Department. Say it with \u2064me. DISMANTLE The Minneapolis Police Department.<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;MPD has systematically failed the Black \u200bCommunity, they have failed ALL OF US. \u2062It&#8217;s time to build \u200ca new infrastructure that works for \u200bALL communities,&#8221;\u2063 she wrote. &#8220;If you are still disagreeing\u2062 with that BASIC\u200c FACT, I&#8217;m not sure what to\u200c say to you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In her post on Thursday detailing the\u200d alleged carjacking, Ms. Sathanandan vowed that \u200bthe criminals would not win.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We need to take \u200bback our city.
