(Eric Gay\/AP Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>Barrier a &#8216;Threat \u200cto Human Life&#8217;<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In \u200bhis order (<a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.txwd.1172749163\/gov.uscourts.txwd.1172749163.50.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>) the judge wrote that there is \u200d&#8221;little doubt that Texas&#8217;s 1,000-foot long, four-foot-wide \u200cfloating \u200cbarrier, anchored with metal wiring to heavy concrete blocks on\u2062 the \u200cbed of the river, constitutes an obstruction to the navigation of the Rio Grande.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;The Court finds that \u2063the barrier\u2019s threat to human life,\u2063 its impairment to free \u2064and safe \u200dnavigation, and its contraindication to the balance \u200dof priorities \u2063Congress struck in the\u2064 RHA outweigh\u200d Texas\u2019s \u2063interest in implementing its buoy barrier \u2063in the\u2062 Rio Grande River,&#8221; the judge wrote. &#8220;The\u200b harm to\u200d navigation is\u2064 clearly\u2063 evident from the\u2063 evidence presented,\u2062 while the\u2063 State of Texas did not present any \u2064credible evidence that the buoy \u2062barrier as \u200dinstalled has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-wins-appeal-to-keep-floating-barrier-in-rio-grande-to-deter-illegal-crossings\/\" title=\"Texas successfully appeals to maintain floating barrier in Rio Grande to prevent illegal crossings.\">significantly \u200bcurtailed illegal immigration<\/a> across the \u2064Rio Grande River.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Judge Ezra also raised\u2063 concerns that \u2063Texas&#8217;s actions could further harm\u200d relations between the United States and Mexico, noting that the barrier &#8220;has already placed tremendous strain&#8221; on &#8220;one of \u200dthe most important, dynamic, and economically impactful partnerships in the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Defendants and\u2062 anyone working on their behalf are enjoined and\u2063 hereby prohibited from \u200bbuilding\u200b new or placing additional\u200d buoys, blockades, or \u200dstructures of any kind \u2062in \u2063the Rio Grande River pending final judgment in this matter,&#8221; the order\u200c stated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>Border Fending Off &#8216;Criminal-Cartel Invasion&#8217;<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The United States failed to\u200d defend Texas\u2019s borders, leading \u200dto\u2063 millions of individuals and hundreds of millions of fatal doses of fentanyl, often trafficked by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-rep-greg-murphy-450k-for-migrants-is-more-than-whats-given-to-military-widows\/\" title=\"Exclusive \u2014 Rep. Greg Murphy: 0K for Migrants 'Is More than What's Given' to Military Widows\">transnational criminal cartels<\/a>,\u2063 illegally entering Texas and the US,&#8221; lawyers for the state \u2064wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Consequently,\u200b the State declared\u200b a border-security disaster and placed an approximately 1,000-foot-long buoy system in the \u2063Rio Grande to prevent people and drugs from being trafficked into the State, violating federal and Texas law. The buoys have nearly eliminated illegal crossings of people and drugs where they\u2019ve been placed,&#8221; they added.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers for the state \u2063also argued that Texas has &#8220;clear constitutional authority to defend its territory.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The buoys were deployed under \u200bthe \u200bGovernor\u2019s constitutional authority to defend Texas\u2064 from transnational-criminal-cartel invasion,&#8221; lawyers for the state wrote. &#8220;Moving the buoys exacerbates dangers to migrants enticed to cross the border unlawfully, and \u2063to Texans harmed by human trafficking, drug smuggling, and unchecked cartel violence,&#8221; they concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Abbott \u200chas not yet \u200bcommented on the latest ruling but vowed \u200cWednesday not to back\u200b down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A U.S. appeals court has halted an order for Texas Gov.
