He stated,\u2063 &#8220;We\u2063 will look at all those cases,&#8221; and acknowledged that there are &#8220;some examples\u2064 of people that should not have been prosecuted. He was \u2063sentenced to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/proud-boys-leader-enrique-tarrio-handed-22-year-prison-term-for-jan-6-attack-5486635\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">22 years<\/a> in\u2062 federal \u2062prison for his role as the &#8220;ultimate leader&#8221; of the\u2063 seditious conspiracy, according to \u200dU.S.\u2064 District Judge Timothy Kelly.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important \u200dto note \u200dthat\u200b Mr. Tarrio was not physically present\u200b at the Capitol on Jan. 6.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mr. DeSantis\u2062 acknowledged that there\u200c are &#8220;other \u2062examples of people that probably did commit misconduct. They may have been violent, but to say\u2064 it&#8217;s an act of terrorism\u2014when \u2064it was basically a \u200bprotest that devolved into a riot to do\u2064 excessive sentences\u2014you can\u2062 look\u200b and go, &#8216;Okay, maybe they were guilty.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But 22 years if other people that did \u200cother things got\u200c six months?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. DeSantis compared the actions\u200c of Jan. 6, \u200dwhich he \u2063said resulted in \u2063minimal physical \u2063damage, with the destructive Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If they were BLM, they would not have been prosecuted,&#8221; he stated. &#8220;We&#8217;ll use pardons\u2062 and commutations as appropriate to ensure that everyone\u2064 is treated equally. They want \u2062to talk about\u200d all these \u200bother issues, but we&#8217;ve got to focus\u2064 on your future.\u200b We&#8217;ve got to \u200cfocus\u2062 on\u200d reversing the decline of our country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mr. DeSantis also reaffirmed\u200c his support for Vice President Mike \u200cPence&#8217;s decision to \u2062ratify the 2020 election during the debate.\u2064 In an \u2064earlier interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/desantis-hints-hed-pardon-trump-5429975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Megyn Kelly<\/a>, he expressed his conflicted feelings about potentially pardoning\u2063 President Donald Trump if he were to be convicted \u2062of a crime.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It doesn&#8217;t \u200dseem \u200dlike it would be a good thing,&#8221; Mr. DeSantis \u2063said,\u200c citing the \u200bnegative impact President Gerald Ford faced when pardoning President Richard Nixon \u2062after the Watergate scandal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But at \u200bthe end of the day, it&#8217;s like, do \u200bwe want to move\u200b forward as a country? Santiago\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, Mr. DeSantis continues to advocate for \u2064an end to the &#8220;weaponization&#8221; of justice and federal agencies, emphasizing\u200c the importance of\u2064 upholding a single standard. \u200cHe proudly states that he is the only governor who \u200chas removed state\u200c attorneys who refused to uphold \u2063the law.<\/p>\n<p>Although Mr. DeSantis is currently trailing \u2063behind the former president in the polls, he remains determined. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/floridas-desantis-addresses-ride-or-die-trump-supporters-5487359?ea_src=frontpage&#038;ea_med=election-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">direct appeal<\/a> to &#8220;Ride-or-Die&#8221; Trump supporters, he declared, &#8220;Nobody in the United States\u2014in the\u2064 Republican Party\u2014has delivered more\u200b on America-first policies and principles than me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In Colorado, there\u200b is a new \u200cpush to \u200ddisqualify \u2063Trump from \u2062the \u2064primary ballot due to his involvement in the \u200devents\u200b of Jan. 6.\u2062 The governor&#8217;s campaign \u2063has\u2064 not responded to The\u200d Epoch Times regarding this matter.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n    <em>Joseph M.
