Florida is the most \u200brecent \u2064state to pass a \u2064bill <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/ron-desantis-banned-cbdcs-florida-203316120.html?guccounter=1&#038;guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&#038;guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAKNI42VR7Vmp0HJBJAk0GhP5YDJL4IXPEO0zAt4A8rYtgNo3s4TDzI8tyU3Z-naTuk9svKw0J18ucwMZcs2NmkgPbeOjgHtGdwNmXARFtjLYMnskCeTgZki4wtC81SRDCVhF4ulPdatFc9ltRB6uwpTXrDE06BSTkC9t1tv8IQWN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">banning<\/a> the use of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, and \u2062North Dakota\u2064 are also considering the measure.<\/p>\n<p>Why the \u2064concern about a form of digital currency that has \u200byet to be issued?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Florida Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/johnstossel\/status\/1697700050628206711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ron DeSantis<\/a> refers to the idea as a \u201cwolf in wolf\u2019s clothing.\u201d Both DeSantis and insurgent Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy\u200c Jr. have rightly raised the issue in the presidential campaign and have been smeared by the corporate press for deliberately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/politics-news\/desantis-rfk-jr-misconstrue-fednow-digital-dollar-plans-rcna78591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cmisconstruing\u201d<\/a> the clearly \u200bstated intentions of the Biden administration to \u200dmove toward a federal digital currency. If you weren\u2019t sure whether\u200c their worries are justified, the furious\u2064 nature of the corporate media\u2019s pushback against their criticism of this Democratic wish-list item is an indication that they are probably onto \u2063something. The idea \u200bhas been peddled for years by the World\u200d Economic Forum (WEF) crowd.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The CBDC is only in the drawing board \u200cstage, but if you\u2019re wondering what\u2063 Democrats can do to\u2062 advance their agenda of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/like-the-nep-before-it-the-just-transition-initiative-is-another-attack-on-canadas-oil-and-gas-industry\/\" title=\"Like the NEP Before It, the \u2018Just Transition\u2019 Initiative Is Another Attack on Canada\u2019s Oil and Gas Industry\">greater government control<\/a> of every aspect of American life, as well as to stifle dissent \u200cif they\u2063 win the 2024 election, this should be on your \u200bradar.<\/p>\n<h2>A D.C.-Controlled Digital Wallet<\/h2>\n<p>The threat is clear. Imagine an America in \u2062which almost all financial transactions are not only able to be monitored by Washington but administered by it via a government-run digital currency. Such a scheme would put the government\u2019s hands even deeper into our pockets and make Treasury Department bureaucrats the \u2062masters of your digital wallets, giving them not just detailed information \u2064about your life but power over your ability to exist in the\u2062 modern marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>That would \u200cmake it impossible for independent contractors and small businesses to \u2062conduct\u2063 operations \u201coff the books,\u201d increasing \u2063government tax revenue. But it would also give the feds the \u2064ability to close the bank\u2062 accounts of those it disfavors for political reasons and prevent them from conducting business of any\u200d kind. That\u2019s something already experienced by Brexit promoter Nigel Farage and dissenters in Canada who backed trucker protests\u200c against authoritarian Covid rules.<\/p>\n<h2>A \u2064Boost for \u200dthe \u2018Green New Deal\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The Davos set sees the CBDCs\u200b as a way to push their \u201cGreen New Deal\u201d ideas about ending the use of fossil fuels and preventing\u200d the eating\u2063 of meat or \u2064air\u2062 travel (except by \u200belites who use their own private planes to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/beware-the-big-brother-digital-dollar-that-will-take-your-freedom\/\" title=\"Watch out for the 'Big Brother' digital dollar that will strip away your freedom.\">attend global warming summits<\/a>). You don\u2019t have to be a 21st-century\u2064 Luddite to know that if\u200c it is implemented, it \u200cwould be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-court-delivers-major-blow-to-bidens-oil-and-gas-lease-moratorium\/\" title=\"Federal Court Delivers Major Blow to Biden\u2019s Oil and Gas Lease Moratorium\">potentially fatal blow<\/a> to\u2063 individual freedom.<\/p>\n<p>The already diminishing role of cash was helped along by the coronavirus pandemic and created much of\u2063 the impetus\u200b for the \u2063creation of a CBDC. A federal \u2064digital currency would offer an opportunity to eliminate the middleman of credit \u2063card \u200bcompanies or online purchasing companies\u2062 like PayPal. \u2063It would compete with other digital currencies \u200dlike Bitcoin with the advantage of having the force and credit of the United States government behind \u200bit \u200drather than being a commodity \u2063floated by \u2062speculation. In theory, a CBDC-dominated economy would lower costs for consumers.<\/p>\n<p>There \u200bis no going \u2063back to the world \u2064that existed before credit cards became ubiquitous. But\u2064 there\u2019s\u200d more to the push toward the creation of\u2063 a digital dollar, which was \u2064set in motion \u2063by an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/03\/09\/fact-sheet-president-biden-to-sign-executive-order-on-ensuring-responsible-innovation-in-digital-assets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive order<\/a> signed by President \u2064Joe Biden last year, than a desire on the part of Washington to make \u200dlife more convenient or affordable for the rest of us.<\/p>\n<p>Data mining conducted by Big Tech and its corporate clients allows them to deluge\u2063 consumers with advertisements based on the preferences exhibited when\u200d they click on links. \u2064But the willingness of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ga-poll-watcher-it-expert-non-trump-supporter-affidavit-sudden-surge-of-20000-mail-in-votes-for-biden-in-early-hours-on-nov\/\" title=\"GA Poll Watcher, IT Expert, Non-Trump Supporter Affidavit: Sudden Surge of 20,000 Mail-In-Votes For Biden In Early Hours On Nov\">social media companies<\/a>, which essentially own the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-signs-law-allowing-people-to-sue-big-tech-for-deplatforming\/\" title=\"DeSantis Signs Law Allowing People to Sue 'Big Tech' for 'Deplatforming'\">virtual public square<\/a> on which our political discourse is now largely\u200b conducted, to act to censor unpopular\u2064 opinions\u2064 \u2014 such as those \u2062that contradicted establishment\u2064 orthodoxies about Covid or\u200b might undermine the politicians that Silicon Valley oligarchs and their deep state allies prefer\u200d \u2014 has made them a clear and present danger to \u2063the\u200b future \u2062of democracy. Yet the Washington establishment dismisses fears about CBDCs as\u200d conspiracy-mongering by either right-wing \u200cpoliticians or those\u2063 who \u200dmight stand \u2063to lose money.<\/p>\n<h2>ESG Guidelines<\/h2>\n<p>There is every reason\u2064 to believe that the new digital money will be guided by environmental, social, and governance (ESG) guidelines that will favor some forms of economic behavior and punish or ban others in much the same way\u200c those measures are already being\u200b used to restrict investment. An ESG-influenced currency could \u2062force consumers to stop buying or limit the \u2062purchase of items liberal elites\u200b don\u2019t approve of, such as\u2062 guns, meat, or gasoline. That could make it that much \u200beasier for the United States to end\u2062 protests against its policies in the\u200c way Justin \u200dTrudeau\u2019s government \u200bdid. And it will all be done in the name of consumers\u2064 and global competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s little \u200cdoubt \u2062that a CBDC will be on\u2064 the agenda of a second\u200c Biden\u200c administration should one come to pass. It\u2063 may be just one among many aspects of the way continued Democratic rule will implement the \u201cGreat Reset\u201d\u2063 and remake our society while diminishing our rights.
