Gavin Newsom Announces Comprehensive Study\u2062 on Artificial Intelligence<\/h2>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Artificial\u2064 intelligence\u2019s \u200bpotential for streamlining government operations \u2062and improving efficiency will be the focus of a comprehensive study announced with\u2064 the signing of an executive\u200b order on September \u200c6 by California Gov. Gavin \u2064Newsom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis \u2064is a potentially transformative technology\u2014comparable to \u200bthe advent of the internet\u2014and we\u2019re only scratching the surface \u2063of understanding what GenAI \u2063is capable of,\u201d Mr. Newsom said in \u2063a press release announcing \u200bthe order. \u201cWe recognize both the potential benefits and risks\u2063 these tools enable. We\u2019re neither frozen by the fears \u2064nor hypnotized by the upside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Generative artificial intelligence, also known \u2062as GenAI, uses advanced learning techniques to identify patterns and create media and \u2064data models on demand. With 35 \u200dof the\u200b top 50\u2062 companies in the AI industry located in California, the state is looking for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-letlow-demands-action-on-parental-bill-of-rights\/\" title=\"Rep. (John Fredricks\/The Epoch Times)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>In \u200dthe executive order, agencies and departments are instructed to identify \u201cprocurement and enterprise use opportunities \u200cwhere GenAI can improve the efficiency, effectiveness, \u2064accessibility, and equity of government operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new law requires\u200b a \u200dnumber of state agencies to collaborate and produce \u200ba report to the governor within 60\u200c days detailing the potential benefits\u2063 and risks of adopting AI.<\/p>\n<p>It also recognizes the debate behind new AI technology and directs the study to \u2063conduct risk assessments and evaluate\u2062 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-gov-newsom-signs-executive-order-studying-ai-in-government\/\" title=\"Gov. Asking questions.
