With God, all things \u2062are possible,\u201d Pavey said is the message\u2063 of the film and her life.<\/p>\n<p>The Indiana native appeared on track in \u200chigh\u200d school to earn a college scholarship \u2063when a serious injury \u2062placed her dreams in doubt.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2064 the film, Pavey\u2019s mother\u200c Salena, portrayed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt15332976\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amanda Verkamp<\/a>, tells Katelyn (Danner Brown), \u201cI would do anything to make all of\u2063 this better for you, but \u200bonly God \u200bcan do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Katelyn\u200d at this difficult moment wonders why God allowed it all to happen in the first \u200dplace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy didn\u2019t He? God \u2014 Why \u200ddidn\u2019t He \u200dmake me all better?\u201d \u200bKatelyn asks. \u201cI mean, first I\u2019m born like\u200c this and it\u2019s fine, it\u2019s \u2063whatever,\u201d looking toward her left arm.\u2063 \u201cYou get over it and you move\u2064 on. But softball, it\u2019s \u2026 I was really good, Mom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Salena responds, \u2063\u201cYou are \u2064really good.\u201d She adds that God\u2062 does some\u200c of \u200dHis best work\u2063 through adversity, teaching lessons that do not come in easy times.<\/p>\n<p>The biblical verse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+8%3A28+&#038;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Romans 8:28<\/a> comes to mind: \u201cAnd we\u200c know that all things work together for good to those who \u200dlove God,\u2062 to those who are the called according to His purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In that vein, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icanmovie.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cI Can\u201d<\/a> also grapples with the subject\u2062 of God\u2019s ability\u200d to redeem even the poor or \u200csinful choices people make, if they turn to him.<\/p>\n<p>Katelyn \u200dwas born as the result of \u200dan adulterous \u2064affair her parents had.<\/p>\n<p>In the film, Katelyn\u2019s\u200d father, Eric Pavey (Jeff Armstrong),\u2064 wrestles with the guilt that his daughter\u2019s deformity was somehow God\u2019s punishment for the affair. And\u200c Katelyn\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/one-armed-all-american-softball-players-story-captured-in-inspirational-film-titled-i-can\/\" title=\"Inspirational film 'I Can' captures story of One-Armed All-American Softball Player.\">potentially career-ending injury brings<\/a> all those feelings back to the surface.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI Can\u201d authentically deals \u2063with the stuff people face in life and leaves the audience hopeful about God\u2019s \u2064ability\u200b to\u200c redeem it all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany are calling I CAN\u200c the most inspirational true\u2063 story \u2063of\u2064 its kind since \u2018Soul Surfer,&#8217;\u201d Brad Silverman, one of the film\u2019s producers, said in an email to The Western \u200bJournal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe real \u200dfamily on which the film is based \u2063insists on not receiving a penny from <a
