Version: 4.0.47--><h2>Georgia Secretary of State Opposes Efforts to Remove Trump from 2024 Ballot<\/h2>\n<p>Georgia Secretary of State Brad \u2062Raffensperger believes that invoking the 14th\u200c Amendment to prevent former President Donald Trump from seeking a second\u200d term in the White House would \u200conly reinforce voter grievances \u200dabout the U.S.\u2062 election process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/efforts-to-remove-trump-from-2024-ballot-using-14th-amendment-ramp-up-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Efforts to remove Trump<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-one-click-you-can-contact-vp-pence-senators-representatives-and-all-swing-state-legislatures-and-request-a-forensic-audit-of-swing-state-results-try-it-now\/\" title=\"IN ONE CLICK \u2014 You Can Contact VP Pence, Senators, Representatives and All Swing State Legislatures and Request a Forensic Audit of Swing State Results \u2013 TRY IT NOW!\">state ballots<\/a> \u200bin the 2024 presidential election are\u200d ramping up nationwide \u200bafter critics argued the leading Republican contender is constitutionally disqualified from serving as president for allegedly engaging in \u201cinsurrection\u201d\u2063 against the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Opponents across the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/study-democrats-support-of-violence-is-rising-especially-involving-recent-scotus-ruling\/\" title=\"Study: Democrats' Increasingly Support Violence, Particularly Regarding Recent SCOTUS Decision.\">political \u200bspectrum<\/a> of the\u2062 former president argue that under the U.S. Constitution\u2019s 14th Amendment, Trump is barred from holding \u200boffice ever again after the January 6 Capitol breach.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics \u200cin Washington (CREW) filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-campaign-blasts-lawsuit-to-bar-candidate-from-co-ballot-absurd-conspiracy-theory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> on Wednesday\u2063 to\u2062 remove Trump from the \u2062ballot in Colorado\u200d under the 14th Amendment, accusing the former president of\u2064 violating Section 3, which bars anyone \u2064from running for office who had previously taken an oath \u2063of office, then \u201cengaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort \u2063to the\u200c enemies\u2062 thereof.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But in \u2064an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/i-cant-keep-trump-off-the-ballot-georgia-sec-state-14th-amendment-c1017ede\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">op-ed<\/a> to The Wall Street Journal published Wednesday, Raffensperger pushed\u200d back against such efforts, arguing that \u201cgrievances of those who see the system as rigged \u200band corrupt\u201d would only be exacerbated if a secretary of state removed a candidate from a state ballot and \u201cerode the belief in our uniquely American representative\u200c democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cDenying voters the opportunity \u2062to choose is fundamentally un-American,\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>he wrote.\u2062 \u201cSince our founding, Americans have believed that a government is just when it has earned the consent of the governed.\u2063 Taking away the ability to choose\u2014or object to\u2014the\u200d eligibility of candidates eliminates that\u2062 consent\u200b for slightly less than half of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Raffensberger and Trump became embroiled\u200c in a \u2062controversy after the 2020 presidential election after The Washington Post released a phone conversation\u200d between the two officials where the \u200bpresident reportedly \u201cpressured\u201d the\u200d official to \u201cfind\u201d the \u200cvotes \u2063necessary for him to win the state.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Georgia\u2062 official still argues disqualifying a candidate under such \u200ca measure is the \u201cnewest way of attempting to short-circuit the ballot box\u201d and that the \u2064outcome should be determined\u2064 by the American people who\u2063 vote in \u200cthe primaries and the general \u200celection.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cSince 2018, Georgia has seen losing candidates and their lawyers try to sue their way to \u2064victory. \u2063It doesn\u2019t \u2063work,\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Raffensperger said. \u201cStacey Abrams\u2019s claims \u2062of election mismanagement following the 2018 election were rejected in court,\u200c as were Mr. Trump\u2019s after the 2020 election.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u200dTrump campaign\u2063 called a lawsuit seeking to ban the former president \u2064from the ballot in Colorado a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-cuomo-on-nursing-home-coverup-who-cares-where-they-died\/\" title=\"Gov.
