But \u200cthe \u200cADL should have been prosecuted a\u2062 long time ago for defrauding\u2064 the American public.\u200d And its co-conspirators\u2062 in the\u2062 media should have been, too.<\/p>\n<h2>Musk Blames ADL\u200d for X&#8217;s Financial Troubles<\/h2>\n<p>Musk this week said it was the ADL\u2019s fault that X, formerly known as Twitter, is hemorrhaging\u200d dollars after the shakedown outfit called on \u200bcorporations to halt ad buys on \u2062Musk\u2019s platform. \u201cSince the acquisition, The @ADL has been trying to kill this platform by falsely \u200baccusing it &#038; me \u2064of being \u2063anti-Semitic,\u201d\u200b he \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1698754179148214495?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>. Musk also claimed that ad revenue\u2062 was down 60 percent, \u201cprimarily\u200c due to pressure on advertisers by @ADL.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-781939156\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-56a71eb0fe3666a103a3c8095322db6c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-56a71eb0fe3666a103a3c8095322db6c\"><\/div>\n<p>Whether\u2063 the 60 percent figure is true \u2064doesn\u2019t matter. It\u2019s illegal \u2063in this \u2062country\u200d to lie in ways that \u200bfalsely besmirch a person or private business in ways that cause them harm, including the financial kind. That\u2019s\u2063 precisely what the ADL does all day long, and it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/07\/dear-corporations-and-advertisers-stop-falling-for-the-lefts-anti-hate-scam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">never in the name of \u201canti-hate\u201d<\/a> or whatever \u200bsaccharine term \u200cthe \u200bleft is \u200busing at the moment.<\/p>\n<h3>The \u2064ADL&#8217;s Targeted Suppression of Oppositional\u2062 Speech<\/h3>\n<p>The ADL systematically targets people and businesses that either fail to advance or actively oppose the primary goals of the Democratic Party. No goal is currently more primary than the suppression \u2064of oppositional \u200bpolitical speech and information. \u2063Your opponents can talk,\u200b but if no one hears them, did they really make a sound?<\/p>\n<p>It was \u2062when Musk purchased Twitter at a premium last year with\u2064 a vow to rein in its over-paid censorship zealots \u2014\u00a0who giddily and exclusively focus their energies \u2063on posts from right-wingers\u200d \u2014\u00a0that the\u2062 ADL \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/03\/elon-musks-twitter-has-created-more-hate-speech-according-to-group-that-says-so-and-thats-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aimed \u200bits artillery<\/a> \u200bdirectly\u200b at\u2064 Musk.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times in December published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/12\/02\/technology\/twitter-hate-speech.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&#038;referringSource=articleShare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the headline<\/a>, \u2063\u201cHate Speech\u2019s Rise on Twitter \u200dIs\u2062 Unprecedented, Researchers Find.\u201d That frightful claim was\u200c backed up, predictably, by none other than the ADL.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8b755e649cc3fe551eddbd1e8d77f645 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8b755e649cc3fe551eddbd1e8d77f645\"><\/div>\n<p>Examples of \u201chate speech\u201d\u2064 that\u2064 had supposedly seen \u2063an increase under \u200cTwitter\u2019s new ownership included \u201cslurs \u200cagainst Black Americans,\u201d \u201cslurs against gay men,\u201d and \u201cantisemitic posts\u2062 referring \u200cto Jews or Judaism.\u201d\u200b The Times attributed the findings to the ADL, the Center for Countering Digital Hate, \u201cand \u2062other groups that \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-dismisses-hunter-biden-censorship-revelations\/\" title=\"White House Dismisses Hunter Biden Censorship Revelations\">study online platforms<\/a>.\u201d The report conceded that the alleged incidents of hate speech were \u201crelatively small\u201d but nonetheless cited the claim by the \u201cresearchers\u201d\u200d that \u201cthe increases were atypically\u2062 high.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There was no public \u200binformation on the\u2063 Center\u2063 for Countering Digital Hate\u2019s website to correspond with\u2062 what\u2063 was asserted in the Times article,\u2064 and\u2062 I don\u2019t know what \u200b\u201cother groups\u201d the paper was referring to, so that left the \u200bADL.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day \u2063as the Times story, the ADL published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adl.org\/resources\/blog\/extremists-far-right-figures-exploit-recent-changes-twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a page<\/a> on its website \u200dcalled \u201cExtremists, Far Right Figures Exploit Recent Changes to \u200cTwitter,\u201d \u2064claiming that \u201cIn the past few weeks, the ADL noted both \u200can \u200cincrease in antisemitic content on the platform and a decrease in the moderation of antisemitic posts, \u2064a troubling situation that will likely get worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How did \u2063the ADL know that? Why, because the\u2064 ADL itself said so! The citations\u2064 for those assertions came in\u200d the form of two hyperlinks,\u2063 both of which directed to a pair of\u2063 tweets from the ADL. One said\u200b that \u200cin the \u200ctwo weeks after Musk formally became\u2064 the \u2063owner of Twitter, \u2062there was a \u206361.3 percent increase \u200cin the \u201cvolume\u201d of tweets \u201cwith \u2062an antisemitic sentiment.\u201d The actual number of such tweets allegedly came in at\u2062 a grand total of 163 \u2062mean, anti-Jewish tweets. \u2063To put that into \u200dperspective, there are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elon-musks-twitter-has-created-more-hate-speech-according-to-group-that-says-so-and-thats-that\/\" title=\"Elon Musk\u2019s Twitter Has Created More Hate Speech, According To Group That Says So And That\u2019s That\">roughly 500 million tweets posted<\/a>\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/twitter-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">each day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e1086dbe1c913d7a5ed1a1be8a9843a7 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e1086dbe1c913d7a5ed1a1be8a9843a7\"><\/div>\n<p>To find 163\u200d out of hundreds of \u2064millions is apparently\u2063 what it means \u2063to\u2063 be \u201catypically high\u201d in volume.<\/p>\n<p>The second\u2064 tweet by the ADL claimed that under Musk, there has been a decline in\u2062 the amount of\u200d action taken by Twitter against\u2062 tweets \u2063that are \u201cflagged\u201d for hateful content. \u201cIn two weeks,\u201d it said, \u201cTwitter went from taking action on 60% of antisemitic tweets to taking \u200baction\u200c on only \u206430%.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Setting aside that the whole point of \u2062Musk buying Twitter (supposedly)\u2063 was to end the aggressive and unfair censorship that it had become\u200d infamous for, the\u200c ADL had <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ADL\/status\/1593714812684406784\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">only reported<\/a> 60 tweets. Out of that, 40 of\u200d them were untouched.<\/p>\n<p>If it \u200calarms you that 40 mean tweets\u200d are\u2064 floating\u200c in the \u2063ether at any given time, try stepping away\u200b from your phone and counting to ten. It should be okay.<\/p>\n<p>The ADL does this routinely. It makes a sweeping accusation about bigotry, racism, antisemitism, \u2064white supremacy, or some other fiction, accompanied by a laughably thin \u201cstudy,\u201d and\u2063 then\u2062 hands it over to \u2063The New York Times, CNN, or The Washington Post to repeat verbatim, no questions asked.\u200d And it\u2019s all for \u200bthe purpose of shutting up and shutting down its \u200dpolitical opponents. Namely, anyone to the right\u2063 of Ilhan Omar (except when she says anything mildly critical of Israel as a welfare \u2063state of\u200d the U.S., then the ADL gets mad).<\/p>\n<p>Back in\u2062 2021, \u2063the ADL published\u200d another one of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adl.org\/white-supremacist-propaganda-spikes-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cheat studies<\/a>,\u200c purporting that \u201cWhite Supremacist Propaganda Spikes in 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cADL\u2019s Center on Extremism (COE) tracked a near-doubling of white supremacist propaganda efforts in 2020,\u201d the report said, \u201cwhich included the distribution of racist, antisemitic and anti-LGBTQ fliers, stickers, banners and posters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report stated that a group called \u201cPatriot Front,\u201d which the\u200d ADL considers to be white supremacist (a category leftists often confuse\u2063 with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/before-elon-sues-for-defamation-the-adl-and-media-should-be-prosecuted-for-conspiracy\/\" title=\"Elon may sue for defamation, but ADL and media should face conspiracy charges.\">freedom-loving\u200d motorboat owners<\/a>), \u201ccontinues to avoid using traditional white supremacist\u2064 language and symbols in its messaging,\u2064 instead using\u200c ambiguous phrases such as \u2018America First,\u2019 \u2018United we\u200d stand,\u2019 \u2018Better Dead Than Red,\u2019 \u2018Two Parties. One Tyranny,\u2019 [and] \u200c \u2018Reclaim America.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hilarious. \u201cBetter \u200cdead than red,\u201d a longtime anti-communist catchphrase, is now supposedly white supremacy.<\/p>\n<p>Another example included in the\u2064 report was \u200cthe slogan \u201cOpen Borders Spread Disease.\u201d That one was particularly interesting since, at the time, we were in the middle of a pandemic. President\u2063 Biden would even use an <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/title-42-amid-backlash-biden-administration-defends-trump\/story?id=80149086\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive \u2064order<\/a> \u200cto\u200c quickly expel migrants crossing the Southern border under the explicit rationale that it prevented\u200b the \u2062spread of disease. \u2064The \u2063ADL never \u200bcalled that white supremacy.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, the report did \u200bidentify some printed slogans by certain groups that \u2064normal people would consider to be hateful.\u200b But when they include \u201cUnited we stand\u201d as an example of bigotry, you might \u2062begin to wonder why the \u200dADL felt\u2062 the need to pad\u2062 the numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Not\u200b that it\u2019s a problem for the ADL. \u2064They can count \u2063on the media to \u200bbark the same line\u200b on command, no matter\u200d the particulars, no matter the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/03\/17\/us\/white-supremacist-propaganda-report-soh\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CNN<\/a>: \u201cDistribution of White supremacist\u200b propaganda surged in 2020, ADL says\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/religion\/2022\/03\/03\/white-supremacist-racist-antisemitism-patriot-front-white-lives-matter-goyim-defense-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cWhite-supremacist propaganda remained high in the United States in 2021, \u2062new ADL report\u2062 says\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/white-supremacist-propaganda-us-reaches-record-high-2022\/story?id=97740986\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ABC \u2064News<\/a>: \u201cWhite supremacist propaganda in US <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/record-breaking-tornadoes-slam-midwest\/\" title=\"Record-Breaking Tornadoes Slam Midwest\">reaches record high<\/a> in 2022, ADL reports\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tell me you\u2019re engaged in a conspiracy to defraud the American public \u200cwithout\u2063 telling me you\u2019re engaged in a conspiracy to defraud the American public.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-9108aeb299ce6cc90f2dfd2cabc50e09 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-9108aeb299ce6cc90f2dfd2cabc50e09\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elon Musk&#8217;s threat to sue the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for defamation, despite their efforts to discourage advertisers from his social media company X, is intriguing.
