insisting<\/a> the amendment had nothing to do with gender experiments. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov\/getattachment\/cf27c10f-b153-4731-ae9e-e3555a326ed9\/The-Right-to-Reproductive-Freedom-with-Protections-for-Health-and-Safety.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">constitutional amendment<\/a> in question, which voters will decide\u2062 on in November, would enshrine abortion up until \u200bbirth in the Ohio Constitution\u200c and also override parental \u2062consent \u2062laws for gender-dysphoric minors seeking <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ProtectWomenOH\/status\/1636019433578672130?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1636019433578672130%7Ctwgr%5E3e4003a640f0553aae8ca83e5e863d16798f8539%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthefederalist.com%2F2023%2F05%2F23%2Fabortion-activists-try-to-fool-ohioans-into-constitutional-amendment-threatening-unborn-lives-and-parental-rights%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">irreversible surgeries and disfiguring hormone injections<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/02\/26\/big-business-sides-with-leftists-in-pushing-highly-destructive-equality-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">far left\u2019s premier lobbying groups<\/a>, claimed in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrc.org\/press-releases\/human-rights-campaign-endorses-ohio-ballot-initiative-to-secure-abortion-as-a-legal-right-in-ohio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aug. 15 press release<\/a> that it \u200dsupports the initiative because it\u2062 wants to\u200c \u201cSecure Abortion as a\u200b Legal Right in Ohio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second \u200cto last paragraph in the\u2064 blog post announcing HRC\u2019s support, however, indicates that the\u200b organization knows\u200c how the\u2064 ballot proposal \u200dfares \u2063will have an effect on \u201cLGBTQ+ rights, abortion rights, and, more broadly, Ohioans\u2019 rights and values.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>HRC\u2019s \u2062endorsement of the initiative came mere days after the group celebrated the defeat of Issue 1, which would have \u200cchanged \u2062the Buckeye State\u2019s law to require a supermajority \u2014 a \u206360 percent threshold vote instead\u2062 of the current 50 percent plus one \u2014 \u2062for constitutional amendments to be ratified.<\/p>\n<p>In its post, HRC declared the defeat \u2064of Issue 1 \u201cmeans we\u200b can support the autonomy over our own bodies\u200c when it\u2019s on the ballot come November.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1d316882259de6c91591aa6d22df9451 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1d316882259de6c91591aa6d22df9451\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>HRC dabbles in abortion activism \u2063but\u200c the organization\u2019s primary goal is \u2063to advance the far\u2062 left\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/you-dont-get-your-own-pronouns-matt-walsh-goes-on-dr-phil-to-debate-leftist-gender-ideology\/\" title=\"\u2018You Don\u2019t Get Your Own the main reason it wants to see the <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/healthcare\/4125956-ohios-so-called-abortion-referendum-would-broadly-obliterate-parental-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ACLU-authored<\/a> amendment\u200c pass in\u2064 November.<\/p>\n<p>Several pro-life and parental rights \u2062organizations warned that the language of the\u200d ballot initiative \u2014 which would guarantee every\u200b individual \u201ca right \u2064to\u200b make \u2062and carry out one\u2019s own reproductive \u2064decisions\u201d \u2014 is deliberately vague and \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/05\/leftist-push-to-disenfranchise-parents-in-ohio-riddled-with-deception\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deceptive.<\/a> They\u200d also noted that a \u200bhigh proportion of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/23\/abortion-activists-try-to-fool-ohioans-into-constitutional-amendment-threatening-unborn-lives-and-parental-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LGBT activist\u2064 groups\u200b are advocating<\/a> for this amendment because they see it as an \u2063opportunity to bypass the state \u200blegislature on more issues than \u2062just abortion. <\/p>\n<p>Protect Women Ohio argued in \u200ca March 2023 advertisement that the proposed amendment is designed \u2064to \u201ccut\u201d parents \u201cout of the biggest decision\u201d of their vulnerable child\u2019s life,\u2064 including abortion or \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/abortion-activists-try-to-fool-ohioans-into-constitutional-amendment-threatening-unborn-lives-and-parental-rights\/\" title=\"Ohio out-of-state activist groups and their <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A majority of Americans<\/a> oppose gender experiments \u2064on\u2063 minors and <a
