U.S. prosecutors have filed a new document suggesting that Hunter Biden could be charged with \u2063a felony gun crime.<\/p>\n<p>In a filing on \u2062September 6, special counsel David \u200dWeiss&#8217;s team stated their intention to seek an indictment from a grand jury before\u200b September 29, 2023.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The Speedy Trial Act requires that the \u200bGovernment\u2064 obtain the return of an indictment by a grand jury by \u200cFriday, \u2064September 29, 2023, at the earliest. This led\u200b to Hunter \u200dBiden pleading \u2062not guilty to the tax charges.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors later claimed that the diversion \u200dagreement was not in effect because it had not been signed\u200c by the U.S. probation \u2063officer for Delaware, Margaret Bray.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.\u200c Weiss\u2064 clarified in a previous filing\u2064 that\u200c since the agreement never\u200c went into effect, none of its terms are binding on\u2062 either \u200cparty.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, Hunter Biden&#8217;s \u2064representatives maintain that he intends to abide by the terms of the diversion agreement.<\/p>\n<h2>Agreement<\/h2>\n<p>The\u2064 agreement\u200d requires\u200c Hunter Biden to comply with certain conditions, including a prohibition on purchasing or possessing a gun \u2062for 24 months.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement accompanying the agreement, Mr. Biden admitted\u200b to using crack and powder\u200d cocaine, starting in 2016 and \u2063becoming a habitual\u2062 user the\u200b following \u200dyear.<\/p>\n<p>He\u200c used the drugs frequently and \u200cregularly until May 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2018, Hunter Biden admitted to purchasing \u2062a firearm while falsely claiming on a federal \u2063form that \u200bhe\u200d was not a user of or addicted to illegal drugs.<\/p>\n<p>He possessed the gun for a short period before discarding it in a trashcan outside a supermarket in Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden has refrained from\u2063 commenting on the investigation into\u200c his \u200bson, stating that it is up to the Justice Department.<\/p>\n<h2>Tax Charges Dropped<\/h2>\n<p>After pleading \u2063not guilty \u200dto intentionally not paying taxes, the parties\u2063 attempted to negotiate a new deal but were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors then asked the judge to dismiss the charges, citing\u2064 an inappropriate venue, and indicated their intention to file the charges elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The government, in the exercise of its prosecutorial \u200cdiscretion, is considering what t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joe Biden&#8217;s son, Hunter Biden, faces potential felony gun charges as stated by U.S. prosecutors.
