In order to be convicted and removed from office, two-thirds of the Senate must agree. \u2063With Senator\u200c Paxton recused from voting, Ken Paxton \u200donly needs 10 out of the 31 senators to vote for his \u200bacquittal.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4543724bf9297af1abbbf830dd4324b3 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4543724bf9297af1abbbf830dd4324b3\"><\/div>\n<p>During pretrial, Paxton&#8217;s defense team requested the dismissal of the 20 articles of impeachment through various motions. This means that Paxton already has six out of the 10 votes he needs for acquittal, and there is a strong likelihood of gaining two more.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Paxton secured nine votes and even\u200d reached 10 votes\u2063 in one instance on motions to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ken-paxton-attorneys-move-to-dismiss-all-articles-of-impeachment\/\" title=\"Ken Paxton's lawyers seek dismissal of all impeachment charges.\">dismiss specific articles<\/a>. While this didn&#8217;t meet the threshold for dismissal, it would be enough \u2063to\u2064 acquit him. Paxton&#8217;s team only needs to persuade two to four jurors to avoid impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>During the opening \u2062statements, Paxton&#8217;s defense attorneys, Tony Buzbee and Dan Cogdel, presented a strong case, highlighting Paxton&#8217;s record in advancing conservative causes and defending Texas against the Obama\u2063 and Biden administrations. On the other hand, the chief impeachment manager, Rep.
