It&#8217;s not clear when the other co-defendants will go to\u2063 trial.<\/p>\n<p>The judge also suggested \u2062that any trial he\u200d conducts could\u2063 be rendered moot if a defendant \u2064successfully appeals to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-slammed-for-failing-to-address-detention-of-migrant-children\/\" title=\"Biden admin. slammed for failing to address detention of migrant children\">higher court<\/a>. Already, a federal \u200cjudge held a hearing \u200cin former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who is charged in the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could potentially even be a six-month\u200b turnaround just for the 11th Circuit to \u2063come up with a \u200cdecision,\u201d Judge McAfee said of the appeals \u2063process. \u201cWhere does that leave us\u2063 in the middle of a jury\u200c trial?\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/florida-teacher-arrested-for-allegedly-spraying-disinfectant-at-students-who-didnt-wear-masks-properly-faces-felony-child-abuse-charges\/\" title=\"Florida teacher arrested for allegedly spraying disinfectant at students who didn't wear masks properly, faces felony child abuse charges\">judge asked<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Wade,\u2062 who provided the \u2063four-month estimate, said\u2064 that did not include jury selection and added that whether or not defendants choosing to testify could affect timing. But he said he expects\u2064 a trial to take \u200bthat long regardless of how many defendants it includes, arguing that because the trial\u2063 was brought under Georgia\u2019s anti-racketeering law prosecutors would seek to prove the entire conspiracy against each defendant.<\/p>\n<p>Another prosecutor, Will Wooten, argued that under the state&#8217;s RICO\u2014or Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations\u2062 Act\u2014statute, \u2064the defendants should be tried together. Jury selection in\u2064 a racketeering and gang case brought last \u200dyear by Ms. Willis began in January and is still \u2063ongoing.
