Lawyers for the other defendants have indicated that they won&#8217;t be ready for trial by that date.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump&#8217;s lawyers filed a motion on August 31 to have\u200d his case\u2064 tried \u200dseparately from Mr. Chesebro \u2064and Ms. Powell, citing concerns about a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-reveals-the-huge-demand-hell-soon-hit-court-with-there-is-no-way-i-can-get-a-fair-trial\/\" title=\"Trump claims he won't receive a fair trial due to overwhelming demand.\">fair trial due<\/a> \u200dto the expedited schedule.<\/p>\n<p>In\u200b addition, the judge expects \u200ca flurry of pre-trial issues that need to be litigated. Several defendants have also requested to have the case moved to federal court, which further delays\u200c the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>During a September 6 hearing, the judge gave the prosecutors until September \u200d12 to\u200c address the effects of the removal proceedings on the case.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d judge denied the request of Mr. Chesebro and Ms.\u200d Powell \u2062to have their \u200btrials separated from each other\u2063 and put them on the same October 23 trial \u200dschedule. However, he expressed \u2063skepticism about trying all 19 defendants together, suggesting that they may need to be\u200c tried \u2064separately.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors strongly oppose this, arguing \u200bthat a racketeering conspiracy allows them to present \u2063the\u200d same case against\u2062 each defendant. They anticipate a four-month\u200c trial, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/prosecutors-may-have-to-try-trump-georgia-case-twice-judge-indicates\/\" title=\"Judge suggests prosecutors may need to try Trump Georgia case twice.\">excluding jury selection<\/a>, with over 150\u2064 witnesses \u2063for the prosecution alone.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers for\u200d Mr. Chesebro and Ms. Powell argue that a joint trial would be prejudicial to their clients, as they were not involved in most of the alleged activity.
