Version: 4.0.47--><h2>Republican AG\u2064 Announces RICO Charges on 61 Leftists After Violent Insurrection<\/h2>\n<p>Republican Georgia Attorney General \u2064Chris Carr has\u2064 indicted\u2063 dozens of people on\u2063 racketeering charges over years of riots\u200b and protests\u200b in opposition to the Atlanta Public \u200cSafety Training Center, \u200dwhich is under construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCop City,\u201d as the facility has been called by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kamala-harris-condemns-d-c-demonstrators-despite-past-encouragement-of-violent-blm-mobs\/\" title=\"Kamala Harris condemns D.C. demonstrators despite past encouragement of violent BLM mobs\">left-wing activists<\/a>, has been targeted since it was announced\u200c by organized protesters.<\/p>\n<p>In an indictment that was announced on Tuesday, Carr \u2062called those who have been targeting the facility\u200d \u201cmilitant anarchists,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/atlanta-cop-city-protests-rico-charges-3177a63ac1bd31a1594bed6584e9f330\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Associated Press<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment, which is dated Aug. 29, \u2062uses Georgia\u2019s anti-racketeering or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/police-release-mugshots-trumps-rico-case-defendants-giuliani-powell-ellis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RICO<\/a> law and targets 61 people.<\/p>\n<p>This is the same statute Fulton County\u2062 prosecutor Fani Willis has used \u200dto charge former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/now-may-come-trump-copyright-violation-mug-shot-backfires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> and \u200d18 other people for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republican-ag-announces-rico-charges-on-61-leftists-after-violent-insurrection\/\" title=\"GOP AG Files RICO Charges on 61 Leftists for Insurrection\">questionable alleged crimes related<\/a>\u200d to \u2062the challenging\u200b of the state\u2019s\u2062 2020 election results.<\/p>\n<p>Carr\u2019s indictment could be\u200b viewed as a sign the state\u2019s Republican Party is fighting fire with fire.<\/p>\n<p>The AG has\u200d accused all of the defendants of conspiring\u2063 to obstruct the construction of the police and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/atlanta-police-charge-23-people-following-attack-on-police-and-fire-training-center\/\" title=\"Atlanta police charge 23 people following attack on police and fire training center\">fire training center<\/a>, \u2063accusing them of violence, intimidation and destruction\u200c of property.<\/p>\n<p>In July, a police cruiser near the facility was targeted by an arsonist.<\/p>\n<p>Other fires \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/crime\/cop-city-fire-arrests-atlanta-b2295103.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were set<\/a> in \u2063March when the facility was\u2062 targeted by masked protestors but the\u2062 effort to prevent it from being completed\u200c started in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Carr cited \u2063the instances of violence and intimidation as his rationale\u200c for going \u200bafter the individuals he said were behind it.<\/p>\n<p>Defendants include \u2063more than three dozen people who have \u2063previously been charged with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lia-thomas-pretends-woman-endorses-domestic-terrorism-3-words-shirt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">domestic terrorism<\/a> and other \u2062acts in connection to the \u200cviolent protests and riots at or near the training center.<\/p>\n<p>Three leaders of the\u200b movement\u2063 against it are also accused of money laundering.<\/p>\n<p>The RICO charges could result in those who\u200b have already been charged facing heavy sentences\u2063 if they are \u2063convicted.<\/p>\n<p>Carr signaled earlier\u200c this year on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/special-counsel-jack-smith-whines-trumps-daily-social-media-posts-new-court-filing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> he was willing to use the full power of the law to keep order in the \u2064state.<\/p>\n<p>He shared a Fox News report about some \u2063of the \u200d\u201cCop City\u201d rioting\u2064 and commented, \u200b <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We are not Oregon. We are not California.
