Greg Abbott (R-Texas) authorized as part \u200bof Operation Lone Star. This operation was launched in\u200b March 2021,\u2062 involving a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/large-migrant-group-wearing-camo-arrested-in-remote-west-texas-border-sector\/\" title=\"Large Migrant Group Wearing Camo Arrested in Remote West Texas Border Sector\">multi-agency effort<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/finnish-govt-warns-country-could-close-border-over-potential-migrant-surge\/\" title=\"Finnish Govt Warns Country Could Close Border Over Potential Migrant Surge\">stop illegal crossings<\/a>, drug smuggling, and human\u2063 smuggling at the border.<\/p>\n<p>A State Department official said that \u200dMexico&#8217;s government had raised \u200dconcerns over\u2063 the \u2063barrier and\u2064 that agreements between the two countries could suffer\u200b if the floating barriers remain in place.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mexico has sensitivities about sovereignty and doesn&#8217;t want to \u200bbe seen\u200c as\u2063 a lesser \u2063partner to \u2062the\u2064 United States,\u201d said Hillary\u2062 Quam, the State Department&#8217;s coordinator for border affairs between the United States and Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Ezra ordered Texas to move the barrier by Sept. 15. The judge wrote\u2062 in his ruling that it threatened provisions of a treaty between the United States and Mexico. (AP Photo\/Eric Gay)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe State of Texas did not\u200d present any \u200dcredible evidence \u200dthat the buoy barrier as installed has\u2064 significantly curtailed illegal immigration across the Rio Grande River,\u201d Judge Ezra wrote.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing in August, the\u2064 judge heard about Texas repositioning the bright \u2064orange buoys closer to American soil \u200cafter they allegedly drifted to the\u200c Mexico \u2063side. Mr. Abbott\u200c has said the \u200cbarrier was\u200c moved \u201cout\u2064 of an abundance of caution.\u201d He noted that he \u2063did not know \u200dwhether the allegations were \u2064true.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Judge Ezra questioned during the hearing why Texas would have moved the buoys if \u200cthey were already positioned in U.S. territory and whether \u200cthe currents could cause the barrier to drift.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;Battle to Defend Texas&#8217;s Sovereign Authority&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Mr. Abbott has \u2063promised to\u2064 appeal \u200dthe court&#8217;s decision, asserting \u200dthat \u200dthe ruling prolongs what he calls President Joe\u2063 Biden&#8217;s &#8220;willful refusal&#8221; to \u2063address border security adequately.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Texas Gov.
