The subpoenas are part of an\u2062 investigation into \u2063allegations that the \u200cSecret Service tipped off the Biden transition team about \u2062a\u200d planned interview\u2063 of Hunter\u2062 Biden in connection\u2064 with a tax probe\u200b in 2020, Fox News reported.<\/p>\n<p>In total, six subpoenas were sent out,\u2063 including one \u2063to Mayorkas\u200c for documents and five for depositions. These\u2062 include\u2064 K.\u2064 Shiek Pal, the director of oversight for DHS\u2019 Office of\u2063 Legislative Affairs; Zephranie Buetow, assistant secretary to OLA; Stephen Jonas, DHS senior adviser to\u200c the general counsel; Vincent Tutoni, assistant\u2062 director of the Secret Services\u2019 Intergovernmental and Legislative \u200bAffairs \u200boffice;\u2063 and David McKeown, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/video-81-year-old-pharmacist-accused-of-trading-drugs-for-sexual-favors\/\" title=\"VIDEO: 81-Year-Old Pharmacist Accused of Trading Drugs for Sexual Favors\">acting special agent<\/a> \u200cin charge of the congressional \u2063affairs program for \u2063the Secret Service.<\/p>\n<p>A DHS official responded to these allegations, denying that the agency had obstructed the committee\u2019s investigation \u200dand saying \u200bthat they were working to respond to the committee\u2019s inquiries before the \u2063subpoenas were issued, according to Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter addressed to Mayorkas, \u2064Comer \u2063said, \u201cThis is only one example \u200bof a systemic problem throughout\u200d the investigation that allowed Hunter Biden to avoid accountability and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-republicans-slam-biden-administration-for-avoiding-oversight\/\" title=\"House Republicans Slam Biden Administration For Avoiding Oversight\">answering difficult questions<\/a> about the source of his income, the legality of his actions, and the\u200b people who worked with and benefitted from his worldwide efforts to peddle access to his father.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Comer emphasized that \u200dthe Oversight Committee, along with the Judiciary and Ways\u200c and Means Committees, is seeking \u200binterviews with key witnesses, including Secret Service employees.<\/p>\n<p>The subpoenas\u2064 follow \u2063whistleblower testimonies earlier this year, which alleged that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-oversight-committee-hits-dhs-secretary-mayorkas-5-others-with-subpoenas-over-biden-family-coverup\/\" title=\"House Oversight Committee subpoenas DHS Secretary Mayorkas and five others over alleged 'Biden family coverup'.\">political considerations influenced prosecutorial decisions<\/a> in the Hunter Biden investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple whistleblowers, according to\u200b Comer,\u2064 testified that \u2063the Secret Service had been tipped off in December 2020\u200b about\u200d the planned interview of Hunter \u200dBiden, resulting in \u2063the Biden transition team being notified and the interview not taking place.<\/p>\n<p>In June, the\u200c Oversight Committee, along\u2062 with other committees, requested interviews with relevant agency\u2064 employees.
