All \u200dfor protesting at the Capitol over \u200b2 1\/2 \u2063years ago,&#8221; conservative YouTubers the Hodge Twins alleged in\u2062 a post on X on\u2063 Monday.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 Last week, a friend of \u200cours was raided by the feds over J6, his name is Nathan Hughes and he\u2019s from \u2064Fayetteville, \u2064Arkansas. Nate was \u2062raided \u200bby \u200dthe FBI and arrested at gun point. His girlfriend (who just had\u200b a miscarriage) was \u200bheld at \u200cgun \u2064point \u2062and \u200dput in handcuffs. The FBI\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LOpMQ28eUJ\">pic.twitter.com\/LOpMQ28eUJ<\/a><\/p>\n<footer>\n        <cite>Hodgetwins (@hodgetwins) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hodgetwins\/status\/1698854092792070382?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September \u20625, 2023<\/a><\/cite><br \/>\n      <\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<h3>Owner Arrested and Charged<\/h3>\n<p>Nathan Hughes, the 34-year-old owner of the compromised Liberty gun safe, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-dc\/pr\/arkansas-man-arrested-felony-and-misdemeanor-charges-actions-during-jan-6-capitol-breach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arrested at gunpoint \u200dand charged last week<\/a> with one felony and \u200bthree \u2063misdemeanors\u2063 related to\u2064 his presence\u200b in the U.S. Capitol building on <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/05\/j6ers-get-domestic-terrorist-treatment-from-two-tiered-justice-system-after-summer-of-love-terrorists-get-slapped-on-the-wrist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jan. 6,\u200c 2021<\/a>. During\u200b the raid \u200don his home, the FBI\u200d ransacked his house and attempted to \u2064confiscate the firearms\u200c from \u200dhis safe.<\/p>\n<p>Liberty \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libertysafeinc\/status\/1699245595867971969\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confirmed<\/a> on Tuesday that it gave the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/05\/majority-of-americans-want-corrupt-fbi-to-be-reformed-or-shut-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disgraced federal law enforcement agency<\/a> a combination to break into Hughes&#8217; gun safe simply because\u2064 the FBI produced a warrant to search Hughes&#8217; home.<\/p>\n<figure>\n    <!-- Image goes here --><br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<h3>Controversy and Customer Backlash<\/h3>\n<p>Safe companies like Liberty are not necessarily required \u2064to comply with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/project-veritas-scandal-sparks-scrutiny-of-federal-courts-secret-spying-warrants\/\" title=\"Project Veritas Scandal Sparks Scrutiny of Federal Courts\u2019 Secret Spying Warrants\">law enforcement requests<\/a> \u2062for combinations\u200d to break into their purchased\u200c products unless\u2064 a court orders them to do so. Liberty, however, claimed it is their &#8220;company protocol&#8221; to give law enforcement entry and access to its products as \u200blong as those agencies possess a warrant.<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturer&#8217;s\u2062 confession that its\u200c products&#8217; security is compromised due to the\u2063 existence \u200cof a master code and its willingness to \u200cwork with law \u200cenforcement even without\u200d a court\u200b order \u2062did not sit well with several loyal Liberty customers who \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheQuartering\/status\/1699271127200059878?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threatened<\/a> on social media to cancel their orders\u2064 and \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AbbyJohnson\/status\/1699274228225175898?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">switch safe companies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Others <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/weirbeard1\/status\/1699284593608716324\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">criticized<\/a> Liberty \u200dfor its double standard on safe security. If \u200ba customer loses\u2062 their safe\u200c keys or\u200d forgets their \u2062safe combination, Liberty requires\u200d them to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.libertysafe.com\/blogs\/the-vault\/what-can-i-do-if-i-lose-the-combination-or-key-to-my-safe#:~:text=If%20you%20need%20immediate%20access,safe%20and%20safe%20lock%20warranties.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hire a \u2064certified locksmith<\/a>&#8221; to regain entry. If \u2063the FBI wants to access a Liberty customer&#8217;s safe, all agents have to do is contact \u2064the company and present a warrant with the customer&#8217;s name on it.<\/p>\n<figure>\n    <!-- Image goes here --><br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<h3>Liberty&#8217;s Response<\/h3>\n<p>Liberty attempted to reassure customers that it is still &#8220;devoted to protecting\u200b the personal\u2063 property and \u20632nd\u200d Amendment rights of\u200b our customers&#8221; and &#8220;has \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poland-sending-fighter-jets-to-ukraine\/\" title=\"Poland sending fighter jets to Ukraine\">repeatedly denied requests<\/a> for \u200caccess codes without\u2062 a warrant in the \u200bpast.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We regularly update our policies to ensure both compliance with federal and state law and reasonable customer privacy protections within the law,&#8221; the social media statement reads. &#8220;First and foremost, Liberty \u200dSafe is committed to preserving our customers&#8217; rights, and we will\u200c remain unwavering\u2063 in those values.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The company did not, however, immediately respond to\u2064 The Federalist&#8217;s questions about \u200cwhether it \u200dplans to strengthen\u200d its code-sharing policy to uphold its \u200dpledge to &#8220;preserve customers&#8217; rights.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not all \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/liberty-safe-let-fbi-seize-customers-gun-safe-contents-without-a-court-order\/\" title=\"Liberty Safe allows FBI to seize gun safe contents without court order.\">gun-safe companies \u200dreadily hand<\/a>\u2064 over \u200baccess to their customers&#8217; products,\u2064 even if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/blue-lives-murder-apparel-appears-for-sale-on-amazon-law-enforcement-demands-its-removal\/\" title=\"\u2018Blue Lives Murder\u2019 Apparel Appears For Sale On Amazon, Law Enforcement Demands Its Removal\">law enforcement demands<\/a> it.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman\u2062 at Ft. Knox, a national\u2062 gun\u2062 safe and vault company, told The Federalist his company would only disclose safe combinations \u2062to law\u2062 enforcement if a\u200c court specifically ordered\u200b it or a search warrant\u2063 specifically named his company.<\/p>\n<p>Browning Safes, Champion Safe Co., and\u200d American \u200cSecurity (AMSEC) did\u2064 not immediately \u2062respond \u200cto The Federalist&#8217;s request for\u200b comment.
