Morgan \u200dStanley analyst Sarah Simon also \u200ctouted the company for its impending comeback.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter successful execution through Covid, 2023 has seen ABI suffer substantial market <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bed-bath-beyond-shares-surge-after-gamestop-chairman-reveals-nearly-10-stake\/\" title=\"Bed Bath &#038; Beyond Shares Surge After GameStop Chairman Reveals Nearly 10% Stake\">share loss<\/a> in \u200bthe US, driven primarily \u2063by consumer boycotts of \u2064its Bud Light brand,\u201d\u200b Simon \u2062said, according to TipRanks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile this makes\u2063 for very negative headlines, ABI\u2019s\u2064 exposure to emerging markets limits the impact of\u200d the US share loss. Current valuation fails to\u200b reflect this upside, \u200bin our\u200d view.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of\u200c course, no one \u2064predicted the\u200b massive boycott\u200b that would put \u2062serious pressure\u2062 on AB InBev, either. So,\u2063 if Americans continue to turn\u2064 away from AB\u2019s beer offerings, the rosy picture might \u200cend up being wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Gates has other\u2063 beer stock, as\u2064 well.\u2064 He also invested\u2062 $939.87 million in Heineken stock\u2063 just as the Bud\u200d Light boycott ramped up.<\/p>\n<p>He acquired 10.8 million shares of Heineken on Feb.\u2062 17, according to the Netherlands Authority \u2062for Financial Markets, according to \u200dReuters.<\/p>\n<p>But Bud Light has not \u2064yet made anything close to a comeback. In \u2062fact, sales for August fell \u200bfaster than in June. Sales tanked 26.5 percent for the week ending \u2063Aug. 5, compared to a fall of 25.9 percent for the week\u200d ending on June 17, Yahoo Finance reported on Aug. 15.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBud Light volumes crashed 29.7%, accelerating from the week earlier\u2019s plunge of\u200b 29.3%,\u201d the report added.<\/p>\n<p>RBC\u200d Capital Markets analyst James Jones said that\u2062 the boycott has been so virulent that they\u2062 don\u2019t\u200c expect any recovery for Bud Light at all \u2062this year.<\/p>\n<p>But the announcement that Bill Gates \u200dis now onboard with Anheuser-Busch does \u2064not seem \u2062to be a recipe for success when you think \u200dabout just who is boycotting\u2062 Bud Light\u2062 and AB\u2019s other brands. Most boycotters would\u200d seem unlikely to be \u2064fans of Gates and his meddling foundation.
