Ms. Hill betrayed her oath of office for money\u200b and fame. Once these 2 facts are proven, \u2063the law does\u200c not\u2063 allow \u2062the Court any discretion about how to respond. It must \u200bgrant a \u200dnew trial,\u201d the filing said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The filing cites at least \u200bthree sworn affidavits, CNN reported,\u200d including one from a juror who decided Murdaugh\u2019s \u200cfate and \u2064another who was dismissed. DNA Evidence Exonerated Him.\">consecutive life sentences<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2063decision came after just a few \u2063hours of deliberation and a six-week trial where \u200dmore than 70 witnesses testified. Murdaugh \u200bhas maintained his innocence, suggesting his son Paul was the main target for the murders due to his involvement in a\u2064 2019 boat crash that killed 19-year-old Mallory Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Murdaugh spent nearly two days testifying in his own defense at \u2062his trial and immediately admitted\u2063 to lying for years about his \u2064whereabouts on the \u200bday his wife and son were \u200dmurdered.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution had\u200d already argued that Murdaugh lied about not going to the dog kennels \u2064on the day his wife and\u2064 son were murdered. Prosecutor Creighton Waters previously pointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cell-phone-evidence-puts-disgraced-attorney-alex-murdaugh-at-scene-of-family-murder-prosecutors-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to cell phone evidence<\/a> taken\u200d from Paul\u2019s phone less than \u200bfive minutes before he was killed. Paul\u2064 had filmed one\u200d of the dogs to send to a friend, and prosecutors allege Murdaugh\u2019s \u200cvoice can be heard\u200c in the background of the recording. \u2064Murdaugh has\u2062 said\u200c he wasn\u2019t at the kennels that night.
