Version: 4.0.47--><h2>House Oversight\u2064 Chairman James Comer Requests Unfettered Access to Biden Family Communications<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>House Oversight Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/james-comer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Comer<\/a> \u2062 (R-KY) is requesting unfettered access\u200b to \u2064documents that show communications between President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe\u200b Biden\u2019s<\/a> office \u200dwhen he \u2064was vice president and his son <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/hunter-biden\">Hunter<\/a>\u2018s business partners.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/2023-9-6-JC-Letter-to-NARA-re-Followup.pdf\">letter<\/a> sent on Wednesday to the National Archives and Records Administration\u2064 (NARA) said Comer\u2019s panel \u2062seeks \u2064\u201cunrestricted special access\u201d to records \u2063that\u2063 have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/research\/vice-presidential-records\/biden-records\/2022-0121-f#page-header\">already been released<\/a> with\u200c redactions\u200b pursuant to the Presidential\u2062 Records Act and the Freedom of\u2064 Information Act\u2064 (FOIA).<\/p>\n<p>The records were posted to NARA\u2019s\u2064 website in response to \u200cFOIA litigation brought by America First Legal, a group led by Stephen Miller,\u200b who served as an adviser to former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Comer\u200c said the \u201ccomplete\u201d versions of the documents are\u2062 relevant to his committee\u2019s investigation into the Biden\u2063 family and\u200d provided a list\u200d of specific requests that he asked\u200b to be\u200d fulfilled\u200d by September 20.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-committee-demands-transparency-on-how-consumer-drug-prices-are-set\/\" title=\"House panel wants to know how drug prices are set.\">chairman noted<\/a> some exchanges that have already drawn interest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example, on December 4, 2015, \u200dat 10:45 a.m. \u2014 in an email with \u2064the\u2062 subject of\u2062 \u2018Quotes\u2019\u2014Eric Schwerin (a longtime\u200b Biden family business associate) wrote to Kate Bedingfield in the\u200d Office \u200cof the Vice\u200b President providing\u2062 quotes the White House should use in response to media outreach\u200c regarding Hunter Biden\u2019s role \u200bin Burisma, a \u2064Ukrainian energy company,\u201d the letter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLater that day \u2064\u2014 \u200cat 2:30 p.m. \u2014 Ms.\u200c Bedingfield responded to \u2062Mr. Schwerin saying, \u2018VP\u2062 signed off on this[.]\u2019  The\u2062 timing \u2062of this email traffic is concerning to the Committee,\u201d\u2062 the letter \u2062added, noting that\u200d according to\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Devon-Archer-Transcript.pdf\">recent testimony<\/a> by\u2063 another Biden \u2064family associate Devon Archer, \u201cafter a\u2063 Burisma board of directors meeting in Dubai \u2014 on the evening \u200cof \u2063December 4,\u2064 2015 (midday in Washington, D.C.) \u2014 Hunter Biden \u2018called D.C.\u2019 to discuss \u200dpressure that Burisma asked him to \u200crelieve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition \u200bto communications between the elder Biden\u2019s vice presidential office and particular individuals known to have been associates of Hunter, including \u200bat Ukrainian energy company Burisma, Comer pressed NARA to provide all executive calendars\u2064 for then-Vice President\u2062 Biden dating from January 20, \u200b2009, to January 20, \u200b2017 \u2014 the entire duration of the Obama administration.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire reached out to NARA seeking comment on the letter and an\u200d update on the agency\u2019s response to\u200d Comer\u2019s last documents request about President Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/comer-seeks-records-of-biden-allegedly-using-pseudonym-as-vice-president\">alleged use \u200cof a fake name<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>For\u200c years, Joe Biden claimed to \u200bhave never spoken to\u2064 Hunter\u200c about his business dealings, but as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-family-will-face-subpoenas-comer-says\/\" title=\"Comer predicts subpoenas for Biden family.\">oversight panel uncovered<\/a> more evidence, the White House has taken \u200cto saying the elder Biden never \u2063did business with his son \u2014 who is \u2062facing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/prosecutors-deny-hunter-biden-locked-deal-to-resolve-felony-gun-charge\">a criminal inquiry<\/a> now \u2063led \u2063by a special counsel. Although\u2064 Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OversightDems\/status\/1699439373383553497\">repeatedly attacked<\/a> Comer\u2019s probe, it may\u200d soon feed into an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bidens-war-room-takes-shape-as-impeachment-probe-looms\">impeachment inquiry<\/a> over\u200b allegations of corruption.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe \u200cBiden never built an \u2018absolute wall\u2019 between his\u200c family\u2019s\u2062 business dealings and his\u200d official government work\u2062 \u2013 his office doors were wide open to Hunter Biden\u2019s associates.\u2063 There is \u200bevidence of collusion in the efforts\u2063 to spin media stories\u2064 about Burisma\u2019s corruption while Vice President Biden\u200c was publicly pushing \u200dan anti-corruption agenda in Ukraine,\u201d Comer said in \u200ca statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuspiciously, Hunter Biden\u2019s associate had a media statement on Burisma approved by \u2064Vice President Biden himself\u2064 the same day Hunter \u2064Biden \u2018called D.C.\u2019 for help with the government pressure facing Burisma,\u201d Comer added. \u201cAmericans demand accountability for this abuse of\u200d government\u200c office for the benefit of the Biden family.
