But we have \u2064to.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt definitely got \u2064between us,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Dillard\u200c told \u2064the outlet that\u200d she \u200cparticipated in the series \u200cpartly because of her desire to \u200bplease her parents. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo matter your\u2064 age, you are to obey your parents&#8217; wishes and you\u2064 even \u2062have to ask\u2062 them for their blessing for any major \u2063moment in \u200byour life,\u201d Dillard said. \u201cThat could be buying a\u200b house, moving to a different state, where to \u2063go\u200c to school. We \u200bwere \u200bdealing with \u200dthis a \u2062lot when we \u2063were trying to make decisions for our family, \u2064and we \u200cwere really wrestling back and forth with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw how deeply we were in an argument one\u200b time,\u200d and I was like,\u200c \u2018Whoa, \u200dthis is not okay,&#8217;\u201d she continued. \u201cWhen I\u2063 saw how it was affecting our \u200cmarriage, I think that was another wake-up call for me. It was like,\u200c okay, we need to \u200ceither fight this battle\u200b together, or it\u2019s \u2062going to rip us apart. \u200cSo yeah, we had to join forces at that\u2062 point.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Derick claims that the Duggar family \u2062patriarch, Jill\u2019s father Jim Bob Duggar, was a source of their trouble. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever we were at odds with what her \u2062dad thought we should\u2064 be doing with filming, \u200che would\u200c say things\u2064 that would be\u200c very damaging,\u201d\u200c Derick told \u2064People. \u201cHe would weaponize the relationship and say, \u2018Is this you \u2064Jill, or\u2063 is \u2064this you, Derek? Are you leading your wife astray and doing \u200cthings \u200cthat are not supportive of marriage?\u2019\u2064 And I think \u2063that\u200b was a red flag.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jim Bob \u2064and his wife Michelle Duggar responded to the allegations with a statement.
