Through Creation of &#8216;Digital \u200dArmy&#8217;<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"text-comp-caption text-[14px] leading-[18px]\">8\/23\/2023<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"shrink-0 basis-[120px]\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/world\/united-nations-countering-deadly-disinformation-through-creation-of-digital-army-5479012\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In 2022, Accrete delivered\u2064 Argus, \u2064its AI software for open-source \u2062threat detection,\u200c to the DOD.<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon\u2019s Defense Innovation Unit, which was co-founded by \u200cformer Google \u200dCEO Eric \u200bSchmidt, helped\u2063 develop Argus last November.<\/p>\n<p>The DOD paid Accrete millions of dollars for a five-year license for Argus to assist \u200dit in uncovering things like\u200b \u201cbehavioral anomalies\u200c indicative of potentially illicit activity \u2064that are too complex for humans \u2064to identify.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s CEO, Prashant Bhuyan,\u200d claims that the AI \u2063software will be able to predict and neutralize harmful\u200d &#8220;viral \u200cdisinformation&#8221; even\u2064 as\u2064 it is \u200bstill going viral.<\/p>\n<p>The tool\u200d would be used by \u200bintelligence \u2064analysts \u200cand other specialists to predict real-time disinformation threats on social media.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Synthetic media,\u200c including AI-generated viral\u200d narratives, deep fakes, and\u2063 other harmful social media-based applications of AI, pose a serious\u200c threat to U.S\u2062 national security and civil society,&#8221; said Mr. Bhuyan.<\/p>\n<p>He described social\u200b media &#8220;an\u2064 unregulated \u2064environment where adversaries \u200broutinely exploit reasoning \u200dvulnerabilities and manipulate behavior through the\u200b intentional spread of disinformation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>    &#8220;USSOCOM is at the tip of the spear in recognizing the critical \u2063need to identify and analytically predict social media \u2062narratives at an embryonic\u200d stage before those narratives evolve and gain traction. Accrete is\u200d proud to support USSOCOM&#8217;s mission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Version for Big Business<\/h2>\n<p>    However, the Pentagon will \u200bnot be \u2064the only customer accessing Argus\u2019 technology.<br \/>\n \u2064\n  <\/p><\/div>\n<p>A\u200c civilian\u200b version, \u200dcalled Nebula Social, will be marketed \u200cto private corporations in order\u200d to \u2064monitor \u2063their online\u2063 reputations and\u2062 will be designed to protect against &#8220;customer pain \u200dpoints.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said that the\u200d private sector also has\u2062 an urgent need for military-level information warfare tools to be made publicly \u200davailable for their use.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Government \u2062agencies and enterprises alike \u2064have an urgent need to \u2064manage a plethora of \u200drisks\u200b and opportunities posed by AI-generated\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/south-park-creators-raise-20-million-to-develop-deepfake-technology-used-for-trump-sitcom\/\" title=\"\u201cSouth Park\u201d Creators Raise  Million To Develop \u201cDeepfake\u201d Technology Used for Trump Sitcom\">synthetic media<\/a>,\u201d Mr. Bhuyan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies are already experiencing significant economic damage caused by the spread \u200dof AI-generated viral \u2062disinformation\u2063 and \u200cdeep \u200cfakes\u200d manufactured by\u2064 competitors, disgruntled employees,\u200c and other types of adversaries.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The software is able to \u2064filter \u2064content by analyzing a company \u200bcore \u200dvalues and responding to the most relevant issues first, before bad actors can negatively impact client behavior with AI-generated fake\u200c content.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We \u200bbelieve\u200c that \u2063the market for AI that can predict and neutralize\u200d malign\u200c AI-generated synthetic media \u2064is about \u2062to explode,&#8221; predicted \u2064Mr. Bhuyan.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">The Epoch Times\u200d reached out\u200b to Accrete for comment.<\/p>\n<h2>Battle Over \u200dGovernment-Led Censorship Escalates<\/h2>\n<p>    Last month, U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty of Louisiana issued a temporary court order, restricting the Biden administration&#8217;s contact with Big \u200cTech, amid a lawsuit\u200c over\u200b allegations \u2064of ties to government online censorship operations to silence\u200c dissent from \u200bconservatives.\n  <\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">In court documents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=00000189-2209-d8dd-a1ed-7a2de8d80000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained by Politico<\/a>, \u200bthe judge&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pentagon-awards-ai-company-contract-to-monitor-neutralize-viral-disinformation\/\" title=\"Pentagon contracts AI firm to tackle 'viral disinformation'.\">preliminary injunction barred \u2064numerous federal\u2064 agencies<\/a> from engaging with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ga-poll-watcher-it-expert-non-trump-supporter-affidavit-sudden-surge-of-20000-mail-in-votes-for-biden-in-early-hours-on-nov\/\" title=\"GA Poll Watcher, IT Expert, Non-Trump Supporter Affidavit: Sudden Surge of 20,000 Mail-In-Votes For Biden In Early Hours On Nov\">social media companies<\/a>, with the exception of the\u2064 DOD.<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">Judge Doughty<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>combat disinformation.
