Maxwell Alejandro Frost<\/h2>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watchdog-sues-energy-department-to-learn-if-bidens-oil-releases-are-politically-motivated\/\" title=\"Watchdog Sues Energy Department To Learn If Biden\u2019s Oil Releases Are Politically Motivated\">government watchdog filed<\/a> an \u200dethics complaint on Wednesday against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/florida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida<\/a> Democratic Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost that urges\u200b an investigation into whether the congressman \u201chas abused official resources for political purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/65db7681-e755-4cff-abe7-1d9e373df4db.usrfiles.com\/ugd\/65db76_e22177bb1d5e4c9dadbf920d9ee59c39.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complaint<\/a> was\u200b filed by \u2064The Foundation for Accountability \u2064and \u200cCivic Trust (FACT) and asks for the Office of\u2063 Congressional Ethics \u200d(OCE) to\u2062 investigate the\u2063 allegations. The \u2062complaint, first \u200cobtained\u200c by The Daily Wire, said that Frost\u2064 has used his campaign \u2063account on X to publish posts that use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jennifer-granholm-violated-hatch-act-in-maine-elections-watchdog-says\/\" title=\"Jennifer Granholm Violated Hatch Act in Maine Elections, Watchdog Says\">official government resources<\/a>, including photographs,\u200d which \u2062could be a violation of federal \u200blaw \u2064and House ethics \u2063rules regulating the social media \u200cactivity\u2062 of Congress.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cRep. Frost\u2019s social media use has quite clearly abused official resources and is troubling. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/government-watchdog-files-ethics-complaint-against-florida-democrat-congressman-over-alleged-abuse-of-official-resources\/\" title=\"Government watchdog files ethics complaint against Florida Democrat congressman for alleged misuse of official resources.\">law plainly requires strict separation<\/a> between campaign and \u2063official acts to both protect taxpayers from\u200d funding\u2062 political activity, and from unfairly benefiting incumbent members of Congress. Violating such a basic rule in a sphere as \u2062public-facing as social \u2063media is\u200d both an awful reflection on\u200b Rep. Frost and the House as a whole. While we await \u2063the OCE\u2019s investigation into this matter, the simple\u2063 response \u200dhere from Rep. Frost should be\u2063 to \u200bapologize and, at a\u2062 bare minimum, delete these past posts \u2063and cease this activity in the future \u2014 we hope that is what he chooses to \u2062do,\u201d Kendra Arnold, the \u2063executive director of FACT, told The Daily Wire.<\/p>\n<p>FACT included several\u2062 examples of the posts from Frost, including several that featured photos taken from events which Frost attended. The complaint also noted that House ethics guidelines stipulate that campaign accounts \u2063cannot \u201cshare, like, retweet,\u2064 etc., a post from \u2063an\u2062 official \u200dsocial media account.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Frost, 26, is the youngest member of Congress and was first elected in\u2064 November 2022. Before his congressional \u200drun, \u200bFrost worked with March for Our Lives, a Left-leaning group that advocates for gun control.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe legal violations in this case are clear \u2064and there are\u200c no facts that \u2064can excuse them.\u2064 In fact, Rep. Frost\u2019s campaign\u2064 social \u2062media accounts demonstrate that he consistently uses official resources for political purposes and \u2064that\u2064 he has used numerous different\u2062 types of taxpayer-funded resources for his campaign,\u201d the complaint said.<\/p>\n<p>FACT\u2062 pointed to Frost\u2019s campaign account on X interacting with official House \u200cphotographs, official House work product, and reposting posts from\u200c his official congressional account.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Office of Congressional\u200b Ethics\u200d is responsible for ensuring each Representative\u200b fulfills the\u2063 public trust inherent in the office and that they\u2062 comply with\u200c the House\u2019s ethical standards.
