The\u200d 11th Circuit hears appeals from Georgia as well.<\/p>\n<p>After the appeals \u2063court ruling, Alabama\u200c Attorney General Chris Carr urged\u200d Judge Geraghty to vacate her\u2063 injunction.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Judge\u200c Geraghty put the injunction on hold pending a final decision in that case, \u2064saying it &#8220;rests on legal grounds that have been squarely \u200brejected by the panel&#8221; in the Alabama\u200d case, but that further appeals\u200c in \u200dthat matter were \u200cunderway.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia&#8217;s ban encompasses\u2064 two primary\u2063 provisions: firstly, it bars minors from\u2063 obtaining hormone replacement \u200btherapies and sex reassignment surgeries to address their gender dysphoria from licensed health care facilities. Secondly, it\u200d stipulates that medical providers who contravene this law risk losing \u2062their licenses.<\/p>\n<p>However, the initial complaint solely focused on hormone\u2062 therapy and did not encompass any concerns related to surgery.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs brought the lawsuit against \u200bthe state \u200cin June. They \u2062contend that the ban infringes upon parents&#8217; \u2064rights to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/french-president-macron-unvaccinated-no-longer-citizens\/\" title=\"French President Macron: Unvaccinated no longer citizens\">make medical choices<\/a>\u2062 concerning the health and\u200b welfare of\u2062 their children. \u2063It\u2064 further alleges that the ban obstructs parents from obtaining suitable medical care for their children who are \u2062grappling with gender dysphoria.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Mr. Carr welcomed \u2064Judge Geraghty&#8217;s Tuesday ruling.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We are pleased with the court&#8217;s \u200ddecision and will continue fighting to\u2064 protect the \u2064health\u2063 and well-being of Georgia&#8217;s children,&#8221;\u2064 said Kara Richardson in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In March, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, \u2062approved a state law that prohibits\u2064 specific medical\u200d procedures and \u2062treatments \u200dfor\u2063 minors \u200cwho\u200b suffer from gender dysphoria, which refers \u2064to the emotional distress experienced by some individuals who don&#8217;t feel\u200d their biological sex matches their &#8220;gender identity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That \u200blaw\u2063 notes there&#8217;s been a &#8220;massive unexplained \u200crise\u200c in diagnoses of gender dysphoria among children over the past 10 years, with most \u2064of those experiencing this phenomenon being girls.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Georgia law bars minors \u2063from \u200bundergoing \u2063transgender surgeries, although this aspect of the law was not under consideration\u200c in the case presided over by Judge Geraghty.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately\u2064 six\u2062 federal \u200bcourts have\u200b issued injunctions against restrictions on what is \u2062commonly \u2063referred to as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/god-loves-me-10-year-old-trans-child-quotes-bible-to-tell-tx-legislators-why-they-shouldnt-ban-trans-surgeries-procedures-for-minors\/\" title=\"\u2018God Loves Me\u2019: 10-Year-Old Trans Child Quotes Bible To Tell TX Legislators Why They Shouldn\u2019t Ban Trans Surgeries, Procedures For Minors\">gender-affirming care<\/a>&#8221; for \u2064minors.
