According to the\u2064 prosecution, Santos (R-N.Y.) concurred\u200b with the proposal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe parties have\u200d continued to discuss possible paths forward in this matter. The parties\u200b wish \u200cto have \u200badditional \u2062time to continue those discussions,\u201d \u2062prosecutors wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Additionally, \u2062according \u2063to the \u2062federal prosecutors, they wanted to postpone the status meeting in order for\u2062 Santos to \u201cbetter \u2063analyze \u2062the\u2064 case materials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later on Tuesday, Judge Joanna Seybert approved the government\u2019s motion and scheduled the subsequent status conference for October 27<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Santos was charged \u200dwith lying on financial reports, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/govt-requests-to-postpone-meeting-in-george-santos-trial-citing-negotiations\/\" title=\"Government requests to delay George Santos trial due to ongoing negotiations.\">defrauding unemployment insurance agencies<\/a>, and misleading campaign contributors when he was indicted on 13 federal counts in May.<\/p>\n<p>The congressman entered\u200c a not-guilty plea.<\/p>\n<p>In recent weeks, Santos has stated \u200cthat while he is not yet interested in a plea \u2062agreement, he is not completely ruling one out in the future. Last month, on a program called \u201cDan Abrams\u200d Live,\u201d Santos was questioned about whether or \u200cnot he would contemplate entering a guilty \u200cplea. He answered, saying: \u201cLook, I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m\u2063 not making, I\u2019m\u200d not making any \u200cassertions right now. Like I said earlier, I\u2019m \u2064like, it\u2019s \u2014 right now, the answer is no.\u2064 But you just never\u200b know. \u2064Life is\u00a0 \u2014\u00a0you don\u2019t know what life\u2019s gonna\u00a0 come at you,\u2063 you know.
