This comes just hours \u2064after a federal\u200b court invalidated the latest map, citing a violation of the Voting Rights Act.<\/p>\n<p>Alabama Secretary of \u2063State Wes Allen wasted no time and filed an appeal to the Supreme Court, along with a stay on Tuesday&#8217;s \u2062ruling until the appeal is \u200cheard. Court documents state, &#8220;Notice is hereby given that Defendant \u2064Secretary of State\u200c Wes Allen hereby appeals to the Supreme\u2062 Court of the United States from this Court\u2019s September 5, 2023 Injunction, Opinion,\u2064 and Order.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To\u2062 cover all bases, the state also filed an appeal to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. However, it is widely expected that the\u2064 Supreme\u200b Court will \u200dstrike\u2064 down the \u2062map, as a similar map was already\u2063 invalidated in \u2064June.<\/p>\n<p>The newly redrawn\u200b map, passed \u2064in July, includes only one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/as-republican-julia-letlow-is-sworn-in-the-democrats-margin-in-the-house-shrinks-to-just-2-votes\/\" title=\"As Republican Julia Letlow Is Sworn In, The Democrats\u2019 Margin In The House Shrinks To Just 2 Votes\">majority-black district<\/a>, but it does have a \u2064district where 40% of \u200dthe\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-nevada-a-corrupt-cash-for-votes-scheme-is-hiding-in-plain-sight\/\" title=\"In Nevada, A Corrupt Cash-For-Votes Scheme Is Hiding In Plain Sight\">voting population<\/a> is \u200bblack. But\u200b we have \u2064now said twice that this Voting Rights Act case is not close.
