In other words, it\u2019s\u200c Marxism\u200c in America.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>The Wasteful Spending of\u200d the\u200c Biden Administration<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In yet\u200b another example of the Biden administration\u2019s practice of wasteful spending to solve a problem that\u2019s already been \u200csolved by the private sector, \u2063the U.S. has committed more \u2064than $60 billion for its \u201cInternet for All\u201d program, according\u200b to\u2064 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/us-news\/the-53-000-connection-the-high-cost-of-high-speed-internet-for-everyone-c903163f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wall Street Journal<\/a>. The \u201cInternet for All\u201d program is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-spending-up-to-53000-per-household-to-address-a-problem-elon-musk-has-already-solved\/\" title=\"Biden Admin spends k per household on a solved issue by Elon Musk.\">latest high-dollar \u200beffort<\/a> to\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-desantis-announces-a-9-4m-in-new-funding-for-fla-city\/\" title=\"Gov. DeSantis announces a .4M in new funding for Fla. city\">bring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-revives-obama-broadband-boondoggle\/\" title=\"Biden Revives Obama Broadband Boondoggle\">high-speed internet<\/a><\/a> to rural areas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>The Costly Solution for Nebraska&#8217;s Winnebago Tribe<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>To \u2063put it in perspective, take Nebraska\u2019s Winnebago Tribe \u200cas an example.\u200d The reservation has \u201csluggish\u201d\u200d internet service, and the feds plan to\u2064 fix\u200b it by installing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-advances-bill-calling-for-strategy-to-defend-retain-control-of-subsea-cables\/\" title=\"House Advances Bill Calling for Strategy to Defend, Retain Control of Subsea Cables\">fiber-optic cable<\/a>. If that sounds reasonable consider \u2063the price tag \u2014 each household and workplace \u200dwill cost an\u200d average\u200d of $53,000 to get\u200c connected.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s more than the assessed value of some \u2062of the homes scheduled for \u200bconnection, according to the Journal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Fiber-optic cable\u200b is the industry standard, but there are other options.\u200c Satellite service, for example, is a lot cheaper. \u2062Satellites may not be as reliable as cable,\u200b at least for now. With people \u2062like Elon \u200cMusk and\u200d his internet satellite company Starlink, it\u2019s\u200d a good bet satellite will continue to improve. A top Pentagon official has already observed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-pentagon-official-admits-elon-musks-starlink-satellites-fought-off-russian-attack-faster-us-military\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starlink<\/a> satellites have thwarted a Russian attack\u2062 faster than the U.S. military \u200ccould have.<\/p>\n<p>Does anyone really think \u2063the feds are going to do a better job at getting rural areas\u2064 online than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-doj-puts-elon-musk-crosshairs-coming-twitter-earlier-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon\u2062 Musk<\/a> and other private-sector innovators?<\/p>\n<p>In another brilliant move, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/aoc-anti-cop-pals-congress-spent-whopping-amount-campaign-cash-private-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Congress<\/a> has left it to state\u2063 and federal officials \u2062to decide how \u200dmuch \u200dmoney is too much to connect hard-to-reach areas. \u200bThat\u2019s like giving the keys to the kingdom to a den of\u200d thieves.<\/p>\n<p>In \u2064some remote locations\u2062 in Montana, laying fiber-optic cable could cost more than $300,000 per\u2064 connection, said Misty Ann Giles, \u200ddirector of Montana\u2019s Department of Administration,\u2062 according to the Journal. Is that\u200b too much, or is it possible \u200cthat some people will just have to live with satellite \u2064internet? \u200bPoor babies.<\/p>\n<p>The Winnebago Tribe\u2019s historic preservation officer, Sunshine \u200cThomas-Bear, is all for the government internet \u200ccable project. She said Starlink \u2014 which her family\u2064 uses \u2013speeds are \u200bsufficient. But there\u2019s a downside \u2014 the \u2062required equipment can\u2062 cost hundreds of dollars. \u200b\u201cA lot of people aren\u2019t as lucky as me to\u2064 be able to afford\u2064 that,\u201d Thomas-Bear \u2063said.<\/p>\n<p>It would be a helluva \u200clot cheaper \u2063for the feds \u200bto shell out a \u200dfew \u200chundred dollars to each household on\u2064 the reservation than $53,000 a pop.<\/p>\n<p>But the\u2062 Biden administration isn\u2019t keen\u2062 on spending taxpayer money on satellite service. The feds maintain\u2062 that fiber networks are a \u2062better\u2064 long-term investment in the \u200dever-growing demand for bandwidth. It makes one wonder how\u2064 many favors the cable companies \u2064are dolling out to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dangerous-man-america-george-soros-finally-given-perfect-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">progressive causes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Defenders \u2062of\u2064 the broadband\u200b programs argue that rural \u200cfiber lines can be used \u200bto upgrade \u200ccell service \u2063and connect more towns. \u201cUltimately, there is a lot\u2064 of\u200c good that will come from the\u2064 infrastructure that we are building,\u201d \u2062said Alan Davidson, an\u2063 assistant\u200d secretary of commerce in charge of broadband programs, according to\u200c the Journal.<\/p>\n<p>High-speed internet, proponents argue, aids in economic development. This, in turn, gives young people a reason to stay on the reservation. I guess Starlink\u200d doesn\u2019t\u200d do the same for a lot less? Can anybody tell me\u2062 why?<\/p>\n<p>None of this makes sense. Then again, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/easy-get-us-migrants-waltz-border-gates-welded-open-biden-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden administration<\/a> rarely does.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2022, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/house-gop-leader-mccarthy-warns-tech-companies-give-data-jan-6-commission-gop-will-not-forget\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Communications Commission<\/a> approved Starlink\u2019s move to launch up \u200dto \u200b7,500 next-generation satellites into the company\u2019s \u2064internet \u2064network, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/12\/01\/fcc-authorizes-spacex-gen2-starlink-up-to-7500-satellites.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a>. \u200bSpaceX\u2019s\u2063 full application included the deployment of nearly 30,000 satellites, but the FCC didn\u2019t\u2064 approve that. They had\u200b \u201cconcerns about orbital debris and space safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What about concerns over gross government overspending on \u2064problems that have already been solved \u200dby the private\u2064 sector?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s modern-day Marxism in America. Make\u2062 no mistake, the progressives aim to \u200ccontrol all means of production and distribution. They want to control what you\u200b drive, what\u2063 you eat, what you \u2064cook your meals on, and, yes, how you\u2062 connect to the internet.<\/p>\n<p>If the recent past\u2019s big-tech\/government\u2064 collusion \u200din\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jordan-subpoenas-foreign-dark-money-group-alleged-censorship-collusion-big-tech-biden-admin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">censorship<\/a> \u200dis any indicator, \u200cthey \u2063also want\u200d to control what you see \u2062and hear on the internet. They want to control \u200bit \u2064all because they fear you.<\/p>\n<p>As far as the progressives are concerned, \u200bresistance is futile. They\u2019re\u2062 not\u2064 trying to help connect \u2063the Winnebago Tribe and rural America to the internet.
