This result, according to \u2062ABC News host George Stephanopoulos, is &#8220;kind of shocking&#8221; considering the indictments against Trump.<\/p>\n<p>MSNBC&#8217;s Alex Witt was\u200b similarly incredulous, <a href=\"https:\/\/grabien.com\/file.php?id=2071839\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">saying<\/a> Saturday that despite Trump&#8217;s\u2064 &#8220;mugshot and \u200dfour criminal indictments, you\u2064 would think \u200dPresident Biden would have a\u2064 significant advantage, but apparently not.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><i>New \u2062York Times<\/i> White House correspondent Peter Baker agreed with Witt, stating that according to\u2064 &#8220;the old\u2063 rules \u200bof politics,&#8221; Trump &#8220;would of course have no possible \u200cviability as a candidate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But \u200bwe&#8217;re in a \u200cdifferent era, and this is a different\u2062 kind of candidate,&#8221; Baker said. &#8220;The indictments \u2026\u200d have actually seemed to embolden \u200chis base.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a \u200bfollow-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/manchin-announces-fundraising-numbers-as-speculation-grows-about-3rd-party-white-house-bid\/\" title=\"Manchin reveals fundraising figures amid 3rd-party White House bid rumors.\">poll \u200breleased<\/a> on Monday, the <em>Journal<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/elections\/bidens-age-economic-worries-endanger-re-election-in-2024-wsj-poll-finds-67a7bba8?mod=politics_lead_story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found<\/a> that more voters see Trump as having a record of accomplishments as president,\u200c believe\u200b Trump has a vision for \u200bthe future, and describe\u200c Trump \u2062as mentally up to \u200dthe presidency.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2064 <em>Journal<\/em>&#8216;s polls \u2062are not the only \u200bones with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jake-tapper-notes-hunter-biden-investigation-lara-trump-fires-glad-you-finally-figured-that-out\/\" title=\"Jake Tapper Notes Hunter Biden Investigation; Lara Trump Fires: \u2018Glad You Finally Figured That Out\u2019\">bad news<\/a> for Biden.
