\u200creport is based on data from all interstate moves received between Jan. 1, 2016, to Nov. 14,\u200b 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The report comes as more and more \u2064Americans are choosing to\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-blue-states-suffering-largest-population-and-tax-revenue-losses-red-states-see-largest-gains\/\" title=\"IRS: Blue States Suffering Largest Population and Tax Revenue Losses, Red States See Largest Gains\">flee high-tax<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/five-out-of-seven-new-seats-went-to-red-states-why-we-shouldnt-celebrate-yet\/\" title=\"Five Out Of Seven New Seats Went To \u2018Red States\u2019: Why We Shouldn\u2019t Celebrate\u2026 Yet\">left-leaning states<\/a> for Republican-led states in the hopes of a better life, U.S. Census Bureau data shows.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts at Allied Van Lines noted that the most moved-to states in 2022 were &#8220;both affordable and offered \u200dbetter \u2063financial security,&#8221; which is likely why states like California lost residents to \u2064Texas\u2062 and Arizona.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>A home \u200dis offered\u200b for sale in Chicago, Ill., on April 26, 2022. (Scott Olson\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Soaring \u2063Cost of Living<\/h2>\n<p>They noted that while California\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/its-official-trump-crushes-record-for-largest-gdp-increase-in-us-history-3rd-quarter-gdp-up-33-1\/\" title=\"IT'S OFFICIAL: Trump Crushes Record for Largest GDP Increase in US History -- 3rd Quarter GDP Up 33.1%\">gross domestic product<\/a> (GDP) rose 8 percent, making\u2062 it one of\u200b the fastest-growing\u2063 economies in the United States\u2062 behind only Hawaii and Nevada, \u200dits cost\u2063 of living is still extremely high, behind only Hawaii \u2062and \u2064Alaska.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile,\u200c California&#8217;s average weekly wages fell by 0.6\u200c percent over the course of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the same time, while Texas saw only 6.4 percent growth, its wages rose 6.4 percent and its cost-of-living is one of the lowest\u2064 in the country,&#8221; the report noted.\u2063 &#8220;The same can\u2019t \u2062be said for Arizona. Its prices rose in 2022, mostly due to increased demand for housing. Nonetheless, Arizona\u2019s cost-of-living\u2063 is\u200c still nowhere near as high as California\u2019s cost-of-living, and its wages grew 5.8 percent\u200d over the same period,&#8221; analysts added.<\/p>\n<p>Employment opportunities are another motivating factor behind Americans fleeing certain states, the report noted, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illinois-tops-list-of-states-americans-left-in-2022-report\/\" title=\"Illinois leads states Americans left in 2022: Report.\">citing slow job growth<\/a> in states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania,\u200c and Illinois when compared to North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;New Jersey has\u2062 seen \u200dlarge job growth, but is significantly more expensive than states further south, explaining why it continues to lose population,&#8221; the report added.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, housing\u2062 is another significant \u200bmotivating \u2062factor, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illinois-tops-list-of-states-americans-fled-in-2022-report\/\" title=\"Illinois leads in states Americans fled in 2022: Report.\">report noting home prices<\/a> \u2062in New York City \u200dcurrently stand at\u200b 119 percent above the national\u200d average.<\/p>\n<p>House prices in\u2062 Anaheim, California, meanwhile\u200d are roughly 140 percent above the national average, \u2062while in San Diego residents can expect to pay\u2062 more than 166 percent above the national average.<\/p>\n<h2>Crime,\u200d Economy Playing Significant Role<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;Chicago is an outlier among outbound cities this year, the only \u200done with a housing market below the national average, a sign other\u200c factors (e.g. crime, economy) play a more significant role in its \u2062migration patterns,&#8221; analysts said.<\/p>\n<p>Another reason for the move may be the end of COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns and restrictions,\u2063 which have given \u200dback Americans the freedom to live where they prefer, in\u2062 areas with cheaper housing and better access to nature, according to Allied Van Lines.<\/p>\n<p>Crime is likely another big factor.<\/p>\n<p>In the first three weeks of\u200d 2023\u200c alone,\u200c the crime rate in Chicago, Illinois&#8217;s\u200c c<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the fourth consecutive year, Illinois remains the leading state from which Americans are rapidly migrating, as per a recent report by Allied Van Lines.
