It\u2019s for you,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2023\/09\/04\/remarks-by-president-biden-celebrating-labor-day-and-honoring-americas-workers-and-unions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cAs I said a thousand times, there is no quit in America. None. All I hear\u2062 from my friends on the other side, what they say is wrong with America. They keep \u2062telling us America is failing. They\u2019re wrong. I\u2019ve got news for them. America has the strongest economy in the world right now, today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, recent\u2062 reports paint a \u2062different\u2064 picture. Americans are paying \u200dsignificantly more for basic goods and services compared to just two years ago. In July 2023 alone, the average American spent $709 more on essential items than they did in July 2021. The Producer Price Index and the Consumer Price Index also \u2063indicate\u2063 that food prices will \u200bremain higher than average throughout 2023 \u2063and \u200binto 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Here are \u200bsome expected increases in prices for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bahamas-to-introduce-price-controls-on-dozens-of-key-food-staples\/\" title=\"Bahamas to introduce price controls on dozens of key food staples\">key food staples<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Beef and veal: 4.2%<\/li>\n<li>Other meats: \u200d4.8%<\/li>\n<li>Poultry: 3%<\/li>\n<li>Dairy products: 4.1%<\/li>\n<li>Fats\u2063 and oils: 9.6%<\/li>\n<li>Processed\u200b fruits and vegetables:\u2063 9.2%<\/li>\n<li>Sugar \u2064and sweets: 9.3%<\/li>\n<li>Cereals \u200band bakery products: 9%<\/li>\n<li>Nonalcoholic beverages: 7.6%<\/li>\n<li>Other foods: 7.4%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Despite these challenges, President Biden remains optimistic about\u2063 the state of the economy.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAmerica isn\u2019t failing. America is winning, and the rest of the world knows it. That\u2019s why our friends \u2064and allies are looking to us,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During his speech, President Biden also took a swipe at former President Donald Trump, highlighting his administration&#8217;s efforts to\u2063 invest in green initiatives through an infrastructure package.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cYou can\u2019t have\u2063 the strongest economy \u2064in the world with a second-rate infrastructure. Can you believe we used to have the best infrastructure in the world? And then we fell to\u200b the number 13 \u200cin the world,\u201d Biden said. \u201cAnd guess what? The great\u2062 real estate builder \u2014 last guy here \u2014 he didn\u2019t build a damn thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Interestingly, President \u200cBiden, who has multiple homes and a long history\u200b in politics,\u200b referred to himself as &#8220;Middle-class Joe.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFolks, all my time in public\u200d life, I\u2019ve been referred to as \u2063\u2018Middle-class Joe.\u2019 I\u200d guess they thought that was somehow not very complimentary. Well, guess what? That\u2019s who I am.
