The employee claims that the mandatory cultural\u200b sensitivity programs in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-judge-refuses-to-dismiss-white-former-employees-racial-discrimination-lawsuit-against-seattle\/\" title=\"Federal judge denies dismissal of racial discrimination lawsuit by white former employee against Seattle.\">city constitute anti-white racial indoctrination<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The backlash against these types \u200bof training sessions has \u2062been growing in \u2064recent years, both in government\u2063 and corporate settings. He claims to have experienced discrimination and\u200d harassment due to the city&#8217;s focus on race and supposed \u200b&#8221;white supremacy.&#8221; He also alleges that he was consistently treated worse than his colleagues who were black, indigenous, or people\u200c of color.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Diemert recalls a city manager asking him, \u200b&#8221;What could a\u2063 straight white male possibly offer our department?&#8221; \u200bHe\u200d was also told by a senior \u2064employee \u200bthat\u2064 it \u200bwas &#8220;impossible to be racist toward\u200b white people.&#8221; In addition, he\u200d attended a workshop where\u200b he was told that &#8220;white people are like\u200c the devil,&#8221; &#8220;racism\u2064 is in white people&#8217;s DNA,&#8221; and &#8220;white people are\u200c cannibals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The city argued that Mr. Diemert&#8217;s\u2062 claims were weak and should be dismissed. However, Judge Jamal Whitehead of the U.S. District Court for the District of Washington disagreed.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 28, Judge Whitehead denied the city&#8217;s motion to dismiss the plaintiff&#8217;s racially \u2062hostile work environment \u2063claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Washington Law Against Discrimination. He also allowed the plaintiff&#8217;s equal protection, disparate treatment, and retaliation claims to proceed. The judge disallowed older claims due to being brought \u2062too late.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;Proceeding Towards His Day in Court&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Laura \u200cD&#8217;Agostino, an attorney from the Pacific \u2064Legal Foundation (PLF) representing \u2062Mr. \u2063Diemert, sees\u2064 the ruling as a victory.\u2063 PLF is a\u200c national public\u200d interest law\u200b firm that challenges government abuses.<\/p>\n<p>D&#8217;Agostino stated, &#8220;We&#8217;re confident that as we get through discovery and proceed in the case, these other claims will also be able to survive ultimately when the case goes before a jury.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Diemert&#8217;s\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/aoc-rails-against-excessive-bail-after-waukesha-massacre\/\" title=\"AOC Rails Against \u2018Excessive Bail\u2019 After Waukesha Massacre\">story dates back<\/a> to 2013 when he was hired by Seattle&#8217;s Human\u200c Services Department. He received excellent work evaluations and even earned a prestigious award for \u2064his performance. However, as time went on, he claims to have \u200cexperienced harassment and racial discrimination \u200ddue to his resistance to the Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI).<\/p>\n<p>The RSJI,\u2062 led by the Seattle Office for Civil Rights, requires \u2062city\u200b employees to \u200bapply\u2062 a &#8220;Racial Equity Toolkit&#8221;\u2062 to every aspect of their work. For \u2063Mr. Diemert&#8217;s department, this meant\u200d mandatory training sessions that promoted concepts such as &#8220;white privilege&#8221; and collective \u2062guilt \u200dfor societal inequities.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Diemert was\u200c also pressured \u2062to join racial affinity groups that focused on \u2062matters of\u200d race.
