Raphael \u2062Warnock\u2062 (D., Ga.) may have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-super-pac-faces-complaint-over-donor-concealment-scheme-financial-discrepancies\/\" title=\"Biden Super PAC Accused of Concealing Donors, Financial Discrepancies\">violated federal \u200claw<\/a> by exploiting an accounting loophole \u2064to receive\u2063 a substantial part-time pastor salary in 2022. The\u200b complaint demands\u2062 an immediate investigation\u2064 by the Senate\u2064 Select Committee on Ethics.<\/p>\n<p>According \u200dto the\u200c complaint, Warnock claimed that $125,000\u200d of his $155,000 salary as a pastor \u200dat\u200c the Ebenezer Baptist Church in \u200dAtlanta was &#8220;deferred compensation&#8221; for work done before assuming office. However, the\u200d Washington Free Beacon reported that this compensation arrangement appears to be fabricated.<\/p>\n<p>If Warnock indeed fabricated this arrangement to exceed the legal limit for \u2064outside income, he could face fines of up to $50,000 or imprisonment for up to a year, as stated in the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Even if the arrangement was legitimate, \u2063Warnock could still face reporting issues. If\u2063 he \u2062was owed $125,000 for pre-office work \u2064in 2022, \u2062he \u200dshould have disclosed it in\u2063 his prior financial disclosures. Similarly, the church should have recorded a liability for wages owed to Warnock \u200cin its books before 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Either Sen. Warnock and his church had a \u200bdeferred\u200d compensation agreement that both have\u200d conspicuously failed to report the existence of for years, or he received outside income\u2063 of over four times\u2063 the legal limit,&#8221; said FACT\u2063 executive director Kendra Arnold.<\/p>\n<p>Warnock previously used a different accounting trick in\u2062 2021\u2064 to \u2063evade the Senate&#8217;s outside income limitation. He\u200b reported \u2063receiving $120,000 from the church, with $89,000\u200c designated as a tax-free &#8220;parsonage allowance&#8221; used to\u200c pay\u200b for his $1 million Atlanta home. This arrangement was approved by the Senate \u2063Ethics Committee, but there \u2063is no mention of approval for the &#8220;deferred compensation&#8221; arrangement \u200cin Warnock&#8217;s 2022 financial disclosure.<\/p>\n<p>Warnock&#8217;s financial ties \u200bto Ebenezer Baptist Church were a contentious issue during his 2022 reelection campaign. While the church paid him a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kari-lake-could-be-on-hook-for-big-payday-benefiting-dem-lawyer-from-steele-dossier-debacle\/\" title=\"Kari lake could be on the hook for big payday benefits Dem Lawyer From Steele Dossier Debacle\">substantial salary<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/warnock-filed-false-financial-disclosure-in-violation-of-federal-law-watchdog-charges\/\" title=\"Watchdog accuses Warnock of violating federal law with false financial disclosure.\">low-income\u2062 apartment building owned<\/a> by the church moved\u2064 to evict its struggling residents for minor rent arrears. The Free Beacon reported that one resident faced eviction for owing just \u200b$28.55.<\/p>\n<p>Despite denying any aggressive eviction actions by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/walker-ad-highlights-warnocks-apartment-evictions-domestic-abuse-allegations\/\" title=\"Walker Ad Highlights Warnock\u2019s Apartment Evictions, Domestic Abuse Allegations\">church-owned building<\/a> during his campaign, six residents\u200c have been evicted since Warnock&#8217;s victory. Four residents have been taken to court in 2023 \u2062for \u200cfalling\u200b behind on rent \u2063by less than two months, and one \u2064resident was forcibly ejected by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/public-radio-reporter-arrested-for-firebombing-police-cars\/\" title=\"Public Radio \u201cReporter\u201d Arrested For Firebombing Police Cars\">law enforcement officials<\/a> in July, according to Fulton County court records.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A complaint filed on Tuesday alleges that Sen.
