37-year-old son, is taking steps\u2064 to adapt and respond \u200cto any political scenario that may arise after the upcoming presidential election in America.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We \u200dare adapting OSF \u200dto be\u2063 able to respond \u200bto whatever \u200cscenarios might emerge, on both sides\u200c of the Atlantic,&#8221; You got to make a deal. I would tell Putin,\u2063 if you\u2063 don&#8217;t make a deal,\u200d we&#8217;re going to give him a lot. We&#8217;re going to [give Ukraine] more than they\u2064 ever got \u200bif we have to,\u201d President Trump\u200b said, adding that \u201che will have the deal done in one day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Polls indicate that support for the Ukraine war among\u200c the \u200dAmerican public has decreased. A recent CNN-SSRS poll released on Aug. 4 showed that a majority (51 \u200cpercent) believed that the United States has done enough.<\/p>\n<p>The United States has\u2064 been a major provider of security assistance to Ukraine, with the U.S. State Department stating\u200b on Aug. 22 that U.S. military aid and training to Ukraine have \u2062amounted\u2063 to nearly \u2062$46 billion since 2014,\u200d with $43.1 billion of that provided since Russia&#8217;s invasion \u200din February 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump\u2062 campaign did not respond to\u2062 a request for comment from The \u2063Epoch Times regarding this story.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;This\u2063 Isn&#8217;t Any Kind of a Retreat&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Alex Soros&#8217; \u200dop-ed was published amidst a wave of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/soros-foundation-worries-trump-will-win-in-2024-and-imperil-globalism\/\" title=\"Soros Foundation concerned about Trump's potential 2024 victory, fearing globalism's jeopardy.\">news headlines\u200d suggesting<\/a> that OSF was\u2063 withdrawing\u2063 from\u200d its \u200bEuropean operations.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting \u200dfrom \u2063an internal OSF email \u200bto staff in\u200d July, The Guardian\u200b reported that the organization&#8217;s new direction &#8220;provides for withdrawal and termination of large parts of our current \u2062work within the\u200c European Union,\u200b shifting\u200b our focus and allocation of resources to\u200b other parts of the\u2062 world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Guardian framed this\u200c strategic shift \u200cas a &#8220;retreat from Europe&#8221; that could have negative implications for human rights. Bloomberg ran a headline stating &#8220;Soros\u2062 Retreats as \u2063Right Wing Gains In Europe.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, \u200bAlex \u200bSoros\u200b explained\u200c that as\u200c OSF &#8220;retools \u2063how \u200bit works globally,&#8221; the foundation is\u200b adjusting its priorities in Europe, but this should not be seen as a retreat.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yes,\u200d this means we\u200c will be exiting \u200dsome areas of work as we focus on today\u2019s challenges, as \u2064well as \u2062those we will \u200bface tomorrow.
