Gordon\u2064 Liddy paraphrased Nietzsche in his 1980 autobiography \u201cWill,\u201d with, \u201cWhat doesn\u2019t kill us, makes\u2062 us stronger.\u201d The 1982 John Milius and Oliver Stone film \u201cConan the Barbarian\u201d opens with, \u201cThat which does \u2062not\u2062 kill us makes\u2063 us\u200c stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today,\u200d the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman \u2064and longtime liberal strategist Donna Brazile\u2063 is \u2062applying the saying to Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never seen anything like this with \u200dDonald Trump,\u201d Brazile told George Stephanopoulos on ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week.\u201d \u201cI mean, what doesn\u2019t kill you makes you stronger?\u2063 I \u200cmean, being convict \u2014 \u200dI\u2064 mean, being indicted,\u2062 that\u2019s \u2062making him stronger? Raising $10 million using an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donna-brazile-goes-off-on-how-trumps-haters-should-respect-his-movement\/\" title=\"Donna Brazile urges respect for Trump's 'movement'\">ugly mug shot<\/a> to raise money? This\u200d is a movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brazile said she had seen two political movements in her life, Ronald Reagan\u200b and Barack Obama. She made her \u200cpolitical bones a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ben-franklins-name-scrubbed-from-tacoma-city-park\/\" title=\"Ben Franklin\u2019s Name Scrubbed From Tacoma City Park\">long time ago<\/a> and has nothing to prove. She\u2062 can call it as she sees \u2063it. While many liberals are blind as moles \u2014 a symptom of\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-editor-large-buried-scorn-attacking-trumps-use-word-riot-describe-riots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump Derangement Syndrome<\/a> \u2014 Brazile can see the obvious.<\/p>\n<p>She may not have \u2063come\u200d out and \u2063said it, but it\u2019s there between \u200dthe\u200d lines: The majority of Americans know <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fulton-county-releases-historic-trump-mugshot-booking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump is being politically persecuted<\/a> and \u200cthey don\u2019t like it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manhattan.institute\/person\/reihan-salam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reihan Salam<\/a>, president of the Manhattan Institute \u200band a contributing editor of National Review, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/week-transcript-9-3-23-vivek-ramaswamy-sen\/story?id=102886138\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">agreed<\/a> with Brazile. \u201cI think for\u2062 a lot of \u200bpeople, they feel like \u2063the talk about litigation \u2014 you know, these various charges, they consider that noise that is baked in, and when he\u2019s\u2062 [Trump] \u2063focused \u2064on the issues, he speaks in a very accessible way that could be meaningful \u2063in a general election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In other words, Trump\u2019s playing\u2064 his cards smart this \u2064time around. It\u2019s not\u200d all\u2062 bluster and name-calling \u2014 though there\u2019s some of that, too. The bluster is balanced with straight information about the issues\u2063 that are on the American mind \u2014 the economy, the\u200d military, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/woke-education-group-backpedals-calling-concerned-parents-domestic-terrorists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">education<\/a>, culture and what it means to be American. Whether people like Trump\u2019s stance \u2062on these issues\u200b or\u2063 not,\u200b they can respect \u2014 as Brazile does \u2014 that Trump has a\u200c plan for the country, rather than relying solely on\u2063 demonizing the opponent.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s base is firmly behind him. That\u2019s not all. He has\u200b the momentum \u200bto widen his\u2062 voter base into territories once thought to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-cabinet-picks-called-divisive-baffling\/\" title=\"Biden cabinet picks called \u2018divisive\u2019, \u2018baffling\u2019\">liberal strongholds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Take the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (<a href=\"https:\/\/uaw.org\/about\/#:~:text=Who%20We%20Are,every%20sector%20of%20the%20economy.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UAW<\/a>) for example.\u200c This international union is\u2064 one of the largest in North America. Unions are generally thought to be in the back\u200d pocket of liberals. The Trump movement seeks to tear that pocket off\u2062 the pants\u2064 of the\u2063 liberals and claim\u200b a greater share of the union vote.<\/p>\n<p>In July, a\u200c headline from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/07\/20\/us\/politics\/trump-united-auto-workers-electric-vehicles.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New \u2064York Times<\/a> read,\u00a0 \u201cTrump\u2064 Seeks U.A.W.\u2019s Support as the Union Wavers on Backing Biden.\u201d The article was subtitled, \u201cA video from the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/longtime-dem-strategist-amazed-by-the-trump-movement-never-seen-anything-like-this\/\" title=\"Dem Strategist in Awe of Trump Movement: Unprecedented!\">president attacked electric vehicles<\/a>, predicting the demise of the American automotive industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Agenda47?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Agenda47<\/a>: Rescuing America\u2019s Auto Industry from \u200cJoe Biden\u2019s Disastrous Job-Killing Policies <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/l3W8oCTRCp\">pic.twitter.com\/l3W8oCTRCp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u2064Team Trump (Text TRUMP\u2063 to 88022) (@TeamTrump) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TeamTrump\/status\/1682078740921065474?\">July 20, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Salam was aware of Trump\u2019s jaunt into \u200cenemy territory. \u2062\u201cI\u2019ll also just note that he\u2019s [Trump\u2019s] been incredibly shrewd \u200cand disciplined when he\u2019s focused on the political. Now, that might not sound like a very wonky thing, \u200dbut that\u2019s what\u200c he\u2019s very focused on and disciplined about\u200b when he\u2019s campaigning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It looks like Trump has politically \u200bmatured. Leading a \u200cmovement takes discipline, and \u200cit appears that Trump \u2062knows it. The left may be trying to kill Trump by any means at their disposal politically, but \u200deach time they fail, they make\u200c him stronger.<\/p>\n<p>Trump isn\u2019t the type of \u00dcbermensch or Superman Nietzsche envisioned. After all, Nietzsche pronounced the death of God, while Trump has been a staunch supporter of\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-new-trump-rule-protects-free-speech-religious-freedom-college-campuses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">religious freedom<\/a>. Trump \u2064is no \u2064Conan the Barbarian, who witnessed the death of his parents as a child and was\u200d nourished on blood and revenge. And Trump is no political insider like G. Gordon \u2063Liddy, who the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/30\/us\/g-gordon-liddy-dead.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times<\/a> \u200d painted as, \u201ca cloak-and-dagger lawyer who \u2062masterminded dirty tricks for the White House and concocted the bungled burglary that led to the Watergate scandal and the resignation of President Richard M.\u200b Nixon\u200c in 1974.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump is unique. He\u200d is a force of nature. Will the left be able to bring him down? Anything can\u2064 happen, but if the left hopes to stop the \u200bTrump movement, they\u2019ll have to\u200b kill him \u2014 figuratively or literally.
