The councilmembers endorsed a motion to investigate potential criminal actions\u2063 by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, stemming from the transportation of 42 illegal \u2063immigrants on a 23-hour bus journey to downtown Los Angeles in June.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2064 councilmembers \u2063have raised concerns about the legality of the program\u2062 and its impact on the city. Their decision \u2063to pursue legal action \u2064came after the 11th busload of \u2063illegal immigrants arrived last week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;LA City Council voted unanimously in June\u200d to become a sanctuary city. Less than 3 \u200dmonths later, they can&#8217;t handle \u2062it,&#8221; \u2063Mr. Abbott said on Sept. 1, in reference to a news article about the Los Angeles City Council&#8217;s move. &#8220;LA experiences a fraction of what overwhelmed Texas\u2064 border towns face DAILY. Don&#8217;t threaten Texas\u2014tell Biden to secure the border.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So\u2064 far, Texas Governor Greg Abbott&#8217;s Operation Lone Star program has \u200dtransported a total of 440 people to Los \u200cAngeles since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-border-crisis-is-the-new-roe-in-google-searches\/\" title=\"The Border Crisis Is the New \"Roe\" in Google Searches\">buses began arriving<\/a> on June 14.
