The airline is facing a lawsuit from Australia&#8217;s\u2064 competition \u2064regulator, which alleges that\u2064 Qantas sold tickets for thousands of cancelled flights.<\/p>\n<p>Alan Joyce, who served\u200b as CEO for 15 \u2064years, stated, &#8220;In the last few weeks, the focus on Qantas and \u200bevents of the past make it clear to \u200bme \u200cthat the company needs to\u200b move ahead with its renewal as a priority.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission \u200b(ACCC) filed a court document \u200daccusing the carrier of breaking consumer law by \u2062selling tickets \u2062to over 8,000 flights without disclosing their \u2064cancellation.<\/p>\n<p>Qantas Chairman Richard Goyder commented on Joyce&#8217;s early departure, saying, &#8220;This transition \u200ccomes\u200b at what is\u200d obviously a \u2062challenging time for \u2064Qantas and its people.
