This marks the third time\u200d in less than three months\u200c that a\u2062 judge has rejected such\u200c requests.<\/p>\n<p>Thurston County Superior Court Judge Allyson Zipp \u2064recently dismissed\u200b a\u2062 request for a \u2064preliminary injunction to block the implementation of HB\u2064 1240. This \u2063bill \u2062prohibits the manufacture, importation, distribution,\u2064 and sale of over 50 types of guns, including\u2064 AK-47 and AR-15 style rifles, which\u200d are classified as\u2063 assault weapons.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d lawsuit challenging the ban was \u200dfiled by firearms training \u2063firm Guardian Arms against Democrat Gov. Inslee case. Another request to block the assault weapons ban was also rejected by U.S. District Court Judge Robert \u2063Bryan on June \u20646 \u2064in\u200d a separate lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>The ban on assault weapons was\u200b proposed by State Attorney\u200b General Bob Ferguson in 2017\u2064 following\u2064 a mass \u2062shooting in Mukilteo, Washington, where\u2063 the\u2063 shooter used an AR-15 style rifle.<\/p>\n<p>During\u200d the \u200c2023 legislative session, both \u200dMr. Ferguson and Mr. Inslee called for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/washington-state-bans-ar-15s-semiautomatic-rifles-5221302\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ban on the sale<\/a> \u2063of assault weapons. \u200dThe bill was signed into law by \u2064Mr. Inslee in April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese assault weapons have no purpose other \u200dthan \u200cmass murder. Their sole intent\u2063 is to kill humans as quickly and efficiently as\u2063 possible,\u201d stated Governor Inslee.<\/p>\n<p>Despite legal challenges, the\u2064 recent decision by Judge Zipp has\u2063 been hailed by State Attorney General\u200c Bob Ferguson, \u200cwho said, \u201cMy \u200blegal team remains undefeated against the gun lobby in court. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/anti-police-activist-charged-with-unspeakable-act-of-political-violence\/\" title=\"Anti-Police Activist Charged With Unspeakable Act of Political Violence\">common-sense gun reform<\/a> will save lives by restricting access to\u200c the preferred weapon \u200bof mass shooters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Second \u2062Amendment Foundation, however, has criticized \u200bthe ban, with founder Alan\u200d M. Gottlieb calling it \u201cabsurd\u201d and accusing the state of\u2063 prioritizing \u2063politics over \u2063constitutional rights.<\/p>\n<h2>Democrats Continue to Push for Gun Ban<\/h2>\n<p>The United States previously had a ban on assault weapons from 1994 to 2004. President Joe \u2064Biden claimed\u2063 in a speech that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-democrats-fearmongering-on-firearms-a-majority-of-americans-own-guns-or-want-to-own-guns\/\" title=\"Most Americans own or desire firearms, despite Democrats' fear tactics.\">mass shootings increased<\/a> after the ban expired.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack in 1994, I took on the \u2064NRA and passed \u200dthe assault \u2062weapons \u2062ban. For 10 years, mass shootings were down. &#8230;\u200b But in 2004, Republicans let that ban expire, and what happened? Mass shootings \u2064tripled,\u201d\u2063 President Biden stated.<\/p>\n<p>However, a \u200dstudy commissioned by the National Institute of Justice in 2004 \u2064(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ojp.gov\/pdffiles1\/nij\/grants\/204431.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>) concluded that \u201cwe \u2062cannot clearly credit the \u200dban with any of the nation\u2019s recent\u200b drop in gun violence. And, indeed, there has been no discernible reduction in the lethality and injuriousness\u200d of gun violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In February, then-U.S. Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) introduced the Assault Weapons Ban of \u200c2023 in \u2063the House, but the bill did not advance.<\/p>\n<p>In March, President Biden\u200b once\u200d again called on \u200bCongress\u2062 to pass\u2062 his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/support-for-more-gun-control-falls-but-partisan-gap-grows\/\" title=\"Support For More Gun Control Falls, But Partisan Gap Grows\">assault weapon ban<\/a> agenda following a school shooting in Nashville, \u200cTennessee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI call on Congress again to pass my assault weapon ban. It\u2019s about time we begin to make some progress,\u201d he stated in\u2063 a March 28 post \u200don X, formerly known as \u2063Twitter.<\/p>\n<h2>Expansive Gun Control Measures Proposed<\/h2>\n<p>The Biden administration is also proposing a rule that would classify any American who sells guns\u2063 as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/white-house-proposes-radical-new-rule-for-americans-selling-firearms-5484529\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firearms \u200cdealer<\/a>, thereby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-dismisses-third-attempt-to-block-washington-state-assault-weapons-ban\/\" title=\"Judge dismisses third attempt to block Washington State's 'assault weapons' ban.\">tightening gun control measures<\/a> in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, individuals can\u200d sell firearms for profit \u200dwithout being \u2062registered firearms \u2062dealers.
