Version: 4.0.47--><h2>Electric Car Bricks Up in Middle\u200d of\u200b Busy Road, \u2062Becomes 9-Hour Headache<\/h2>\n<p>An electric \u200dvehicle abruptly stopped\u2063 in the middle of \u200ca busy road \u200bnear Salisbury, England, and remained immovable for most of the day, causing a nine-hour traffic bottleneck.<\/p>\n<p>The nightmarish gridlock began when a <strong>Tesla \u2063Model 3 Performance<\/strong> car ran\u200d out of power\u200d and broke down as it was making a turn off a high-traffic thoroughfare Tuesday\u2064 afternoon,\u200c according\u200b to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2023\/09\/01\/tesla-model-3-breaks-down-salisbury-elon-musk-electric-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Telegraph<\/a> of London.<\/p>\n<p>A team of workers was unable to move\u2064 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-man-buys-115000-hummer-electric-truck-immediately-left-stranded-middle-road\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stranded EV<\/a> because \u201cthe handbrakes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/super-bowl-lv-all-the-best-commercials\/\" title=\"Super Bowl LV: All The Best Commercials\">electric cars<\/a>, and some other modern cars, are controlled electronically, unlike those\u2063 of traditional petrol and diesel cars which are mechanical,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis\u2064 means that the \u200chandbrake often locks \u200bwhen the power \u200dfails and the car\u2062 cannot be pushed or \u200dtowed,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Grigg, \u200dthe landlord\u200b of a local pub,\u2062 said the stranded Tesla obstructed traffic\u200c for most of the day before it was \u200ctaken \u2064away to be recharged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA number of local workmen along with the policeman attempted \u2062to\u2062 push\u200b the \u2064car to safety, however, \u200cdespite their best \u200defforts they could not move it,\u201d Grigg told\u2062 The Telegraph. \u201cThe obstruction caused delays throughout the rest of the day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said officers had\u200b to\u200d stop at\u2062 several different\u2064 charging stations before finding one they could use to recharge the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>According to Grigg, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-tries-towing-10000-pound-trailer-ev-truck-winter-goes-100-miles-gets-worse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electric car<\/a> stopped working mid-turn even though its battery gauge\u200c showed it \u2062still had \u200bseveral miles of charge left.<\/p>\n<p>He said the road was not cleared of all recovery vehicles until 11:15\u200d p.m., or \u200croughly nine hours\u2062 after the Tesla abruptly halted.<\/p>\n<h3>Another Damning Anecdote<\/h3>\n<p>This type of sudden engine failure is not\u2062 something consumers would expect\u2063 of a <strong>Tesla Model 3 Performance<\/strong>, which cost \u00a360,000, according to The Telegraph \u2014 or \u200cabout $75,000.<\/p>\n<p>This \u200bis yet another damning\u200b anecdote spotlighting the drawbacks of \u2064electric vehicles, which\u200c have been touted as the superior alternative to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/3-recent-failures-of-green-energy-policies\/\" title=\"3 Recent Failures of Green Energy Policies\">gas-powered cars<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In May, a Tesla broke\u200d down at a McDonald\u2019s drive-thru in Ottawa,\u2064 Ontario, and could not be \u2062moved.<\/p>\n<p>A TikTok\u2064 user captured \u200bthe incident\u2062 in a video that \u200bwent viral: \u201cSo the Tesla died in the parking \u200clot of the\u2063 McDonald\u2019s drive-thru. In January, \u2063a GMC Hummer EV \u2014 which costs roughly $115,000 \u2064\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mans-115k-electric-hummer-breaks-middle-utah-desert-not-first-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broke down<\/a> in the middle \u2062of a busy highway.<\/p>\n<p>On \u2062the surface, the idea of an eco-friendly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/electric-car-bricks-up-in-middle-of-busy-road-becomes-9-hour-headache\/\" title=\"Electric car causes 9-hour traffic jam.\">sustainable \u2063electric vehicle sounds fantastic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But so far, EVs \u2063have failed to live up to\u2063 the hype \u2014 and they certainly have not earned\u2064 widespread\u200b consumer confidence for reliability, safety \u200dor\u2064 efficiency amid reports of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/americans-2nd-thoughts-leftist-ev-utopia-get-hot-stored-not-just-charging\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spontaneous battery fires<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-friend-spend-1-hour-trying-find-ev-charger-charge-car-go-15-miles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Recharging \u200cnightmares<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/journalists-hook-camper-115k-electric-hummer-can-make-123-miles-gets-worse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Limited towing capacity<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Range <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-exposes-shocking-amount-electric-truck-driving-range-cut-cold-disaster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">malfunctions in cold weather<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ironically, another \u2064major drawback \u2064of electric vehicles is how environmentally costly it is to produce them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike any vehicle \u2013 they have to mine materials\u2064 to make \u200bthe car,\u201d physicist \u200cMark Mills told <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.cbn.com\/news\/us\/range-anxiety-battery-fires-and-high-costs-cause-consumers-hit-brakes-electric-vehicles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBN \u2064News<\/a> in November 2022. \u201cYou have\u2064 to mine a lot more materials, metals,\u200b to\u200c make an electric vehicle than you do a conventional vehicle. By \u2062about \u200d1,000 percent on average.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He explained that miners \u2063must \u2064use heavy machines that burn diesel oil to dig\u200b up 500,000 pounds of earth to make a single, 1,000-pound EV battery.<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<p>While left-wing \u200cactivists claim EVs are better for the environment because they supposedly generate zero carbon emissions, their environmental impact is massive.<\/p>\n<p>President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-america-majority-living-paycheck-paycheck-even-six-figure-earners-overwhelmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> said during the 2020 campaign that \u200che wanted to \u201ctransition\u201d the U.S. \u200daway from oil in order to advance \u2062\u201cgreen\u200c energy\u201d \u200bprograms.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Joe Biden said during tonight\u2019s debate that he would \u200dtransition away from the oil industry in an effort\u2064 to curb pollution \u2014 \u2064a statement that led\u200b President Donald Trump to raise his eyebrows\u2064 in surprise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh.
