Polls also support \u200dhis assertion, as he has consistently dominated\u200c surveys of 2024 Utah voters in both the \u2063primary and general elections. With strong polling and plenty of\u200b time\u2064 on his side, \u200cRomney \u2064has until next June for\u200b the GOP primary in Utah.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m confident that I would win if I\u2062 decide to\u2062 run. I&#8217;ll have the resources, and I believe the people of Utah would be with me,&#8221; Romney confidently told reporters in February.<\/p>\n<p>While\u2062 a Romney campaign\u200c spokesperson did not respond to the Washington Examiner&#8217;s request for comment on the senator&#8217;s\u200b reelection plans, Romney himself has stated that he expects to announce his decision sometime this fall.<\/p>\n<h3>Potential Challengers<\/h3>\n<p>Although Romney still\u200d polls well ahead of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-gov-newsom-recall-moves-forward-after-petition-reaches-1-6-million-verified-signatures\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Gov. Wilson has polled competitively against \u200bRomney and has secured the endorsements of nearly 50 state legislators for his Senate \u200bbid.<\/p>\n<p>Other potential challengers include Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs, who\u200d launched his\u2064 bid in May\u2062 with the backing of\u200d conservative commentator Mark Levin,\u2063 and Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, who served as the \u2064state&#8217;s co-chairman for Trump&#8217;s 2020 reelection campaign. Former Rep. Jason Chaffetz and former national security adviser Robert C. He enjoys the full support of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell\u200d (R-KY) \u200dand Sen. Steve Daines\u2063 (R-MT), who chairs the \u2062National Republican Senatorial Committee. McConnell himself has praised Romney as\u2062 an incredibly effective \u200dsenator.<\/p>\n<p>Given that the seat is expected\u200c to remain\u200d in Republican \u2063hands, the GOP primary will likely be the main event. Democrats attempted \u2062to make a dent in the red state in 2022 by rallying behind retired CIA agent \u2064Evan McMullin&#8217;s independent bid to \u2064unseat incumbent Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT). However, their efforts failed, and Lee won reelection with an 11-point victory.
