Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is its lead\u200b author, were unambiguous.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018There is just no evidence \u200cthat they\u2019 \u2014 masks \u2014 \u2018make any\u2062 difference,\u2019 Jefferson told\u2064 journalist Maryanne Demasi. \u2018Full\u2064 stop.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut,\u2063 wait,\u2063 hold on. \u200bWhat about N-95 \u200cmasks, as opposed to lower-quality \u2062surgical or\u2062 cloth masks?<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019Makes no difference \u2014 none of\u2063 it,\u2019 said Jefferson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat about\u200b the \u200cstudies that initially persuaded \u2064policymakers to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-states-should-pause-reopening-efforts-state-and-local-leaders-should-reimpose-mask-mandates\/\" title=\"Biden: States Should Pause Reopening Efforts, State And Local Leaders Should Reimpose Mask Mandates\">impose mask mandates<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019They were convinced\u200d by nonrandomized studies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-york-times-finally-admits-masks-dont-do-a-thing\/\" title=\"The New York Times Finally Admits Masks Don\u2019t Do A @#%*&#038; Thing\">flawed observational studies<\/a>.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(As a quick aside,\u200b this writer, and most Americans, probably would\u2019ve paid good\u200c money to\u200c be the\u200c ones to\u2063 personally read those findings to \u200cFauci\u2019s face.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow do we get \u2063beyond that finding \u200bof that particular review?\u201d\u2064 Smerconish \u2063asked Fauci.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s where Fauci, as he is wont to do, utterly refused\u200d to\u2064 take any semblance of self-responsibility (an\u2063 alarming trend from everyone involved with\u200d those horrific COVID-19 lockdowns) \u2064and disputed the above study by noting that\u200c \u2026 there were \u200dother studies.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, \u200cthis supposed bastion of \u2064intelligence used the sort\u2062 of argument \u2063you \u2062wouldn\u2019t expect from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-fauci-squirms-as-he-realizes-not-even-cnn-will-blindly-go-along-with-mask-mandates-this-time\/\" title=\"Fauci squirms as CNN questions mask mandates.\">junior high\u200d debate student<\/a>, let alone one of the leading\u2062 \u201cexperts\u201d in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, but there are other studies, Michael,\u201d Fauci responded. He then proceeded to offer\u200c up\u2062 a Kamala-esque\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-stuart-stevens-says-washington-insiders-threatened-by-lincoln-project\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Stuart Stevens Says \u2018Washington Insiders Threatened\u2019 by Lincoln Project\">word salad<\/a>\u2063 about how\u2064 some studies <em>do <\/em>show benefits at an individual level, but it may\u2062 not reflect on a \u2063more macro scale.<\/p>\n<p>Which \u2026 duh? Of course, someone\u200c with certain medical issues <em>may <\/em>receive some partial benefit \u2063from masking up,\u200c but that hardly means it\u2019s some sort of cure-all.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately after that, Smerconish very timidly called out Fauci and his cohorts for shutting the country down and highlighted the\u2064 demonstrably horrible \u2064effects \u200bit had \u200don children.<\/p>\n<p>Fauci, again, offered little more than\u2062 word salad and deflection.<\/p>\n<p>Credit \u2064where credit\u2019s due.
