Marjorie Taylor Greene Dismisses White House Criticism<\/h2>\n<p>Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) \u2064has\u200b responded to White House criticism\u2062 regarding her recent remarks about \u200cvoting against funding the government. She stated that\u200d she would only vote to fund the government if the House holds \u200dan\u2064 impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe White House is \u200dattacking me for demanding an impeachment\u2064 inquiry before I\u2019ll\u200c vote to fund one\u200d penny to our over bloated\u200d $32\u2064 TRILLION dollar \u200din\u200d debt failing government,\u201d Ms. Greene \u200cwrote on\u200b Sept. 2, in a\u200b long \u2064thread on \u200cX, formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have the evidence they have \u2063desperately\u200d been \u200btrying to hide to just ask the question. However, \u2063the impeachment inquiry was not her only \u200dcondition. She also demanded blocking new\u200c funding\u200c for \u200dthe war in Ukraine, defunding\u200b mask \u200band vaccine\u2064 mandates\u200d for \u200cCOVID-19, and defunding &#8220;weaponized&#8221; agencies within the\u2063 Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere should be no funding for Jack Smith\u2019s special counsel. We have \u200cto fire David Weiss, who is protecting\u2062 Hunter Biden on his special counsel. And\u2063 we have\u2064 to rein in\u200c the FBI.\u2062 I will not vote for\u2062 money to go towards those things,\u201d\u200b she said.<\/p>\n<p>In \u200dresponse to Rep. Greene&#8217;s demands, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates hit back, accusing her \u2062of being part of the &#8220;hardcore \u200dfringe&#8221; of the Republican Party that prioritizes a &#8220;baseless impeachment stunt.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe last thing the American \u200bpeople deserve is for extreme\u200b House members \u200bto trigger a\u200c government shutdown that hurts\u200c our economy, undermines our disaster\u200c preparedness, \u2062and forces our troops to work without guaranteed pay,\u201d Mr. Bates \u2063added.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. \u2063Greene also criticized the Biden administration&#8217;s economic\u200c policies and its efforts to address the fentanyl\u2062 crisis in\u2062 the United States.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChild sex trafficking and Chinese \u200dfentanyl \u200bmurdering our people \u2062is your legacy,\u201d she wrote. \u201cBidenomics is responsible\u2063 for the highest\u200b inflation in \u206340 years that is kicking down\u2063 our senior\u2064 citizens in \u200cpoverty \u200dand stealing their hope of a good\u200c future \u200bfor their grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In mid-August, Texas Gov. Fentanyl is now the leading \u200bcause of death among Americans aged between 18 and 45.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 27, \u2063House\u200c Speaker Kevin\u200b McCarthy \u200c(R-Calif.) said it\u200b was only a \u201cnatural step forward\u201d when\u200d it came to initiating an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, in an\u200c interview with Fox News\u2019 \u201cSunday Morning Futures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2064 also\u2062 said that some Democrats were \u200b\u201cvery concerned\u201d about the possibility of President Biden being impeached.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have had Democrats \u200bnow \u200dtell me they&#8217;re very\u2062 concerned \u200cbecause they back this president \u2064based \u200dupon what he told America.\u200d And with each turn,\u200c we find that is not true,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless,\u200d Mr. McCarthy said \u200da lot of questions remained unanswered. He said, \u201cTo be able to\u2062 get the answers to these \u200dquestions, \u200byou would need impeachment inquiry to empower \u2063Congress, Republicans and Democrats, to be \u2064able to get\u2064 the\u200b answers that the\u200b American\u200b people deserve\u2064 to know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Sept.\u200c 1, he added that the inquiry would\u200c only\u2064 move\u200c forward \u2062from a formal vote on\u2064 the House floor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo open an impeachment inquiry is a serious\u200b matter,\u201d Mr. McCcarthy said on Friday. \u201cThat\u2019s why, if\u200c we move forward with\u200d an impeachment inquiry,\u2063 it\u200b would occur through\u200c a vote\u200d on the floor of the People\u2019s House \u200cand not \u200dthrough a declaration by one person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some Republican House\u2062 lawmakers have introduced impeachment resolutions against President Biden,\u2064 including Ms. Greene, who introduced H.Res.420 in May.<\/p>\n<p>In June, \u2062Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) \u2062filed her own impeachment\u2062 resolution (H.Res.503). Days \u200dlater, \u200bHouse Republicans staved off\u200d a direct \u200bvote on the resolution and sent it to the\u2062 Judiciary and Homeland Security committees for \u200dfurther review.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
