(Paul Reder\/via Reuters)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;The gate \u200cand airport in and out of Black Rock City remain closed. \u2064Ingress \u200band egress are halted\u200c until further notice,&#8221; the organizers <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bmantraffic\/status\/1698029268998230189?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advised<\/a>. &#8220;No driving is permitted except \u200demergency vehicles. If you are in [Black Rock City], conserve food, water, and fuel, and shelter in\u2062 a warm,\u2063 safe space.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do not travel \u200bto Black \u200dRock City! Access to the city is\u2062 closed for the remainder\u2064 of the event, and you\u2063 will \u2063be turned around,&#8221; \u200danother post said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>They noted at 7:42 p.m. local time that the gate and airport \u2062in and out of Black Rock City remain closed.<\/p>\n<p>The organizers estimated that over half an inch of rain had fallen on Black Rock City overnight. More rain is forecast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rain over the last 24 hours\u200c has created\u2063 a situation that \u200brequired a full stop of vehicle movement on the playa,&#8221; \u200bthe U.S. Bureau of Land\u2063 Management, the agency that manages the area, said in a \u2062statement. &#8220;More \u200crain is expected over the next \u200dfew days and conditions are not expected to improve enough to allow vehicles to enter the playa.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure style=\"width:446px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>The mud covers the ground at\u2063 the site of the Burning Man festival in Black Rock, Nevada, on Sept. 2, 2023.
