Ingress and egress are halted until further notice,&#8221; the organizers <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bmantraffic\/status\/1698029268998230189?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advised<\/a>. &#8220;No driving is permitted except emergency vehicles. If you are in [Black Rock City], conserve food, water, and\u2062 fuel, and shelter in a warm, safe space.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do not travel to Black Rock City! Access to the city is closed for the remainder of the event, and you will be turned around,&#8221; another post said.<\/p>\n<p>They noted at 7:42 p.m. \u200blocal time that the gate and airport in and out of Black Rock City remain closed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The organizers estimated that over half an inch of rain had fallen on Black \u200cRock City overnight. More rain is forecast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rain over the last 24 hours has created a situation that required a full stop of vehicle movement on the \u2063playa,&#8221; the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, the agency that\u200c manages the area, said in \u2062a \u200bstatement. &#8220;More rain is expected \u2062over the\u2064 next few days and conditions \u2064are not expected to improve enough to allow vehicles to\u200d enter the \u2062playa.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width:446px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>The \u2062mud covers\u2064 the ground at the site of the Burning \u2063Man festival in Black Rock, Nevada, on Sept. 2, 2023.
