The decision \u200ccomes after the American Civil \u2063Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit against the \u2064district attorney, who \u2064had \u2063sent\u2063 a letter to\u200d a &#8220;Pride&#8221; event organizer stating that explicit performances in front of \u2062children would not be allowed.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062judge&#8217;s ruling follows \u2063concerns raised by\u2063 the ACLU regarding explicit drag\u2064 performances at &#8220;Pride&#8221; events across \u200cthe country, where children have been present. The\u2064 lawsuit also involves Flamy\u2062 Grant, \u2063a drag performer who has \u200bbeen portrayed\u2064 in the media as a\u200d &#8220;Christian&#8221;\u200c drag\u2062 performer.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, a federal \u2063judge in\u200b Memphis had \u200calso blocked the law, but\u2064 its enforcement could still be carried out outside of \u200bShelby County.\u2063 Blount\u200d County Pride, represented by the ACLU, argues that the \u2064district attorney&#8217;s letter was an attempt to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/government-cant-solve-our-cancel-culture-problem\/\" title=\"Government Can\u2019t Solve our Cancel Culture Problem\">suppress free speech<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee&#8217;s law \u2064has received support from an 18-state coalition and America \u2063First\u200d Legal,\u2063 who argue that it is necessary to \u200bprotect children from sexually explicit\u2062 performances.
