This amendment was ratified in 1868.<\/p>\n<p>In Trump&#8217;s case, the claim is that his involvement in\u200d the Capitol incursion on January 6, 2021, taints him.<\/p>\n<p>Fontes initially expressed\u2064 serious concern about the issue, stating that his\u2064 office was taking it very seriously.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u200bFontes later explained that an Arizona Supreme Court case\u2063 seems to limit his authority, as reported by The \u2062Hill.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Now, the Arizona Supreme Court said that \u200cbecause there&#8217;s no statutory \u2062process in federal law to enforce Section 3 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pelosi-says-impeachment-and-25th-amendment-resolutions-will-be-brought-to-the-house-floor-starting-monday\/\" title=\"Pelosi Says Impeachment and 25th Amendment Resolutions Will Be Brought to the House Floor Starting Monday\">14th amendment<\/a>,\u2063 you can&#8217;t enforce it,&#8221; Fontes said on a podcast by The Arizona Republic and\u2063 azcentral.com.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s what the Arizona Supreme Court said, so that&#8217;s the state of the law in Arizona. Now, do I agree with \u200dthat? No, that&#8217;s \u2063stupid,&#8221; Fontes added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Fontes emphasized that he would follow the law, regardless of his personal opinion.<\/p>\n<p>However, in a subsequent interview, Fontes clarified\u200c that\u2063 no final ruling has been\u200d made yet, according to the Arizona Republic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s \u200bstill\u2062 an open question.
