The announcement was made on August 30th by the city.<\/p>\n<p>The Harm Reduction Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-arrogance-of-mandated-needle-exchange-programs\/\" title=\"Mandated Needle Exchange Programs: A Display of Arrogance\">opioid reversal medication<\/a> and overdose \u2064training,\u2064 is currently seeking approval for the \u2062needle exchange program from the department&#8217;s Public Health Office of AIDS. San \u2064Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond and five city\u200d leaders\u2064 sent a letter to the\u2063 state&#8217;s public health department and Governor Gavin Newsom\u2064 on\u2062 August 30th.<\/p>\n<p>The letter emphasized that these programs, under the guise of &#8220;harm reduction,&#8221; only further\u2064 harm communities struggling with substance abuse disorders.
