The \u200bcourt \u200dfiling comes just days before\u2064 the start \u200cof Google&#8217;s first federal \u2062antitrust trial. The case focuses on the DOJ&#8217;s claims of Google&#8217;s dominance\u200c in the ad tech market, which were initiated under the\u2064 Biden administration earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ is seeking at least $300 million in\u200b damages on \u200bbehalf of \u2064eight federal \u2062agencies. However, Google questions \u2064the agency&#8217;s motivation for the lawsuit, stating that the federal agencies did not request the DOJ\u2062 to file a complaint on their behalf.\u200b Google also highlights that the agencies\u2064 only became aware \u2064of their participation \u200din the litigation\u2062 after\u2062 the complaint was filed.<\/p>\n<p>Google further \u2062contends that the DOJ&#8217;s investigation has primarily targeted prominent\u2062 publishers and Google&#8217;s competitors in the \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-files-second-antitrust-lawsuit-against-google-seeks-to-break-up-its-ad-business\/\" title=\"DOJ Files Second Antitrust Lawsuit Against Google - Seeks to Break Up Its Ad Business\">ad tech industry<\/a>. The company claims that his prior affiliations and public statements indicate a preexisting bias against Google&#8217;s compliance with antitrust laws.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Google&#8217;s allegations, the DOJ stated in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacermonitor.com\/view\/IK62QSY\/UNITED_STATES_et_al_v_Google_LLC__vaedce-23-00108__0318.0.pdf?mcid=tGE3TEOA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August memo<\/a> that the cases against Google\u200b were not driven solely by \u200dMr. Kanter&#8217;s alleged bias.
