Circuit upheld Jackson\u2019s decision, rejecting the effort \u2063to block Trump\u2019s deposition.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has not sought to avoid deposition,\u00a0according \u200cto \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/dc-md-va\/2023\/09\/01\/trump-deposition-strzok-page-fbi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Post\u2063 reported that in the 2-1 <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.cadc.39892\/gov.uscourts.cadc.39892.1208548629.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ruling<\/a>, the judges appointed\u200b by Democratic presidents\u2063 supported allowing Trump to be questioned. The dissenting judge was appointed by a Republican.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The ruling noted that Jackson \u201climited the deposition to two hours, and to a narrow set of topics\u201d and \u2062that the deposition would not be published.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>According \u200cto The Hill, Strzok is suing the FBI for wrongful termination.\u00a0Page is suing for invasion of\u200c privacy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The two \u200cbecame embroiled in\u200b scandal in\u2063 2018 when it was revealed that,\u200c even as they were investigating the\u2064 debunked claim that the Trump campaign\u2064 had ties to Russia, they were \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/strzok-page-texts-well-stop-trump-from-being-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">texting<\/a> each other\u2064 about how much they disliked Trump.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The two were in a relationship at \u2064the time. Strzok was fired amid the uproar; Page resigned.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The DOJ\u2019s lawyers claimed that because FBI Director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wray-tries-change-question-fbi-presence-capitol-jan-6-gop-rep-doesnt-let-slide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christopher Wray<\/a> and former Trump chief of staff John\u2063 Kelly \u200dhave already been deposed in the case, Trump\u2019s testimony is not necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly testified that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/huge-win-trump-judge-swiftly-dismisses-lawsuit-rules-plaintiffs-no-standing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> \u201cwanted \u2063to see Mr. Strzok \u200bfired\u201d \u200dand considered other steps against the former agent,\u200c according to The \u2064Hill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly the most extraordinary of circumstances would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-attempt-to-block-trump-deposition-fails-again\/\" title=\"DOJ's bid to block Trump deposition fails once more.\">justify allowing<\/a> a plaintiff to depose a former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-is-way-too-risky-for-american-travelers-and-businesses\/\" title=\"China poses significant risks for American travelers and businesses.\">high-level \u200cofficial<\/a>\u2064 about actions he took\u2062 in the course of his official duties.
