Even \u2064without\u200d focusing on former President Donald Trump\u2019s\u2062 being booked there Aug. 24 for \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gravy-train-keeps-rolling-for-second-stepdaughter-ella-emhoff\/\" title=\"Gravy Train Keeps Rolling for Second Stepdaughter Ella Emhoff\">crimes related<\/a> to questioning the integrity of the 2020 \u2064election, Fulton County Jail\u200c is a\u200b facility unworthy\u200d of a republic \u2062founded on Western values.<\/p>\n<p>I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/look-inside-georgia-jail-trump-booked-nothing-short-hulking-sprawling-nightmare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently \u200dwrote<\/a> \u200dabout how seven inmates\u2062 have died in the jail this year and\u2062 15 last year. \u200cI need to\u2062 correct that \u2013 there\u200c have been two \u2062more deaths, bringing this year\u2019s total to nine.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-three-year-old \u200dDayvion Devote Blake \u200bdied following a Thursday stabbing \u2063incident, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5atlanta.com\/news\/three-inmates-reportedly-stabbed-at-fulton-county-jail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WAGA-TV<\/a> reported. \u2063Three other\u200b inmates were hospitalized with injuries.<\/p>\n<p>It \u2062was the fifth \u2064death in the jail in the\u2062 month \u2063of August, the second this week. What\u2019s more, 60 inmates died at the jail between 2009 and 2022, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/investigations\/man-who-died-in-fulton-jail-pleaded-for-an-end-to-violence-neglect\/IUPTQBWY4FD67BWPKCW3Z3CIGU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u200c Atlanta Journal-Constitution.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s right, 60.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Samuel Lawrence, 34, was found unresponsive in his cell. \u200bAfter hospitalization he was pronounced dead. Just a few days earlier, Lawrence had sent a letter\u2064 to a nearby federal court, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fatal-violence-erupts-at-fulton-county-jail-this-is-where-they-want-trump\/\" title=\"Deadly violence breaks out at Fulton County Jail - The place they desire Trump.\">pleading civil rights violations<\/a>\u2063 at the jail, according to\u200d WANF-TV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan\u200b you please tell someone to check on me?\u201d Lawrence said in a 12-page handwritten letter. \u201cGet help. Get help, \u2063please. They\u2019re hurting me in here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He complained\u2064 of beatings from inmates\u200d and guards and\u2062 being denied food and medical treatment, The Atlanta\u2063 Journal-Constitution \u200dreported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know how much more I can take,\u201d Lawrence wrote in\u2064 his August 22 filing. \u201cI\u2019m starving. I\u2019m thirsty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While unconfirmed,\u200c other allegations made by\u200d Lawrence \u2064included guards providing him little or no protection\u2063 from violence from other inmates and guards acting violently toward him when fear prompted him to refuse to return to his cell.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S \u2064Department\u2063 of Justice is investigating the Fulton \u200cCounty Jail, but its inquiries are \u2062limited to whether or\u200d not the Fulton County Sheriff\u2019s Office is discriminating \u200cagainst\u200b inmates who show signs of mental \u200dillness.<\/p>\n<p>Blake, killed in the\u200d Thursday stabbing,\u2063 had \u2064been in custody since January on\u2062 marijuana and cocaine \u2064charges\u200c and for a battery charge from another county, WAGA said. He had previous arrests related to reckless driving, receiving \u2062of stolen \u200dproperty and fleeing from and obstruction\u200b of law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>In December \u200b2022, Lawrence was arrested on an arson\u2064 charge, \u200cbut after more than 200 days in jail, he\u2064 still had not been formally charged,\u200c the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said.<\/p>\n<p>He was reported to have been \u2064suicidal.<\/p>\n<p>Few \u200cexpected Donald Trump to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-details-terrible-experience-booked-fulton-county-jail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">incarcerated<\/a> \u2063in Fulton County Jail; after all, what are \u2062the logistics of trying to jail someone with his own Secret Service detail?<\/p>\n<p>Yet, bringing the former \u200dpresident into the orbit of the shameful Atlanta facility just focuses more\u200d attention on its horror.<\/p>\n<p>While there\u200d is legitimate concern about how the incarceration establishment should deal \u200bwith inmates \u2063with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-military-recruitment-flatlines-as-american-propensity-to-serve-fades\/\" title=\"US Military Recruitment Flatlines as American \u2018Propensity to Serve\u2019 Fades\">mental illness problems<\/a>, there is \u2064a need for the Justice\u200d Department to expand its \u200befforts to correct barbarian\u200b jailing practices.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-fbi-agent-amused-nasty-conditions-georgia-jail-trump-will-forced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reveled at the\u2062 idea<\/a> of Trump being \u2062held at the Fulton \u2064County Jail.
